MAybe after a game in which he got 30 minutes, isn’t the best to bitch about his MPG?

So not good habits and professionalism.
And they all didn’t get the same amount of DNPs.
Cool

You have yet to justify that statement.

it would be pretty awesome if frank could get on andre's level defensively. OKC would've went to the WCF if he stayed healthy last season IMO. he was a legit DPOY candidate. i also don't think frank is a liability on offense like andre. it's always 4 on 5 when andre is on the floor. teams dont even put a body on him. frank can at least hit a couple of jumpers.

It’s like when lil bitches make subliminal records, if it ain’t directed directly at me, I don’t respect it

No, I was responding to a post about Roberson and how OKC handled him. I don't think Roberson and Frank are comparable at all.dakomish23 wrote:prophet_of_rage wrote:So Roberson's situation isn't comparable to Frank's? Then why bring Roberson into it at all. They didn't give free rein to Roberson. They just kept him. The Knicks aren't giving Frank free rein. They are holding onto him.dakomish23 wrote:
A. OKC was a 59 win team the year before and was a contender going into 14-15
B. His minutes took a huge dip after they traded for Waiters
C. He was on a 45 win team trying to make the playoffs. He also played Morrow more than him.
Which of these are applicable to the Knicks situation?

You’re the one who used Roberson MPG stat. Idk why you brought it up if it wasn’t to justify how the FO is handling Frank

I'm interested in what Frank would need to step up to get to Andre's level on the defensive end.
Andre certainly gets more blocks. So that's one thing, whatever way. ...
Height is hard to guess, hops too. But Andre seems to be ~2inches taller than Frank. Not sure about reach. So .. maybe Frank needs to grow a little, maybe he needs to gamble a little more (would be nice if he could know that wouldn't be punished by being pulled by the coach), maybe he needs to work on power more so his jump has another couple of inches.
After that I'm reaching. Probably from not paying enough attention to Andre's work.
What else should Frank improve, in your view?

His rookie season
Ntilikina became only the third NBA player over the last 15 years to attempt at least 500 shots in a season and post a TS% south of 44%.
This season is worse. He is currently that bad. Let’s hope he improves.

If you look at that list of players though, the other 2 guys, Lance Stevenson and Caron Butler, had 10 year or longer NBA careers. Frank is younger than they were in those seasons. Mudiay's rookie season is also on the list, but now 2 years after that season his offense looks good enough that even with his defense hes probably a rotation player. It is at least theoretically possible Frank can get his shooting near Mudiay's by the end of his rookie deal and then with his defense you have someone pretty decent.
If you bump TS% to 45 you get a longer list of players most of which had productive careers and a couple of whom are probably/possibly hall of famers. Possibly a stat that is skewed by poor free throw shooting or not getting to the line?
So obviously its not great that Frank has such a low TS, but also might not be that meaningful in terms of his long term potential. The lack of improvement is the most worrying part, but the season is only half over. Hopefully with Fizdale's most recent statement Frank's back-up role is now cemented and he will get consistent minutes in consistent rotations. I think that will help him a lot.

Frank should get more minutes when kanter gets traded. I can see us playing vonleh at the 5 for long stretches because Mitch is going to get in foul trouble and luke is going to get abused on defense fiz will have no choice but to move Noah to the 5.
That is going to open more minutes for Knox and Mario at the 4 so Frank will get more minutes as a wing plus all the minutes he is getting as a backup pg.

True enough. I'd be saying that lately, at least.

Just checked. Roberson was at 19 minutes a game his second season. He played fewer minutes than Frank has so far.

Re: Hot Topic - Quite Frankly; All Things Frank
Frank has looked a little better and it's good to see him get extended minutes last game.We have been bringing him along slow, but progress has also been slow. I am hoping he starts getting more extended minutes.
There probably is no right or wrong way, but at this point the more minutes the more it should help. Maybe trying to bring him along quicker he will develop a little more quickly.
Overall, i think it's mostly on Frank's hands anyway and up to him just to start clicking on things and playing better.

Still doesn’t make sense. You brought up Roberson MPG b/c you disagree with the Frank take?

Re: Hot Topic - Quite Frankly; All Things Frank
Frank should start. He actually gets his teammates involved constantly on the offensive end.
Just look at yesterday's game as a classic example- Mudiay almost always makes his passes from drive and kicks. The first 3 shots Hardaway put up were well behind the 3 point line because of Mudiay penetrating and not getting Hardaway the ball where he could take a more efficient shot.
When Frank was inserted, he got Hardaway the ball in his sweet spots- primarily coming off screens in catch and shoot and one dribble shot attempts. He literally moves the ball around from side to side and gets all his teammates involved- he also makes a concerted effort to give the guy with the hot hand the ball as much as possible. Getting guys involved offensively- even if they're only touching the ball for a few seconds- will more than likely keep them engaged in the game, especially on the defensive side.
I don't like Mudiay's game at all, he reminds me of a kamikaze pilot every time he drives the ball into the paint. He doesn't look like he knows what he's going to do- seemingly improvises every time he penetrates- and half the time he ends up on the floor leading to a 5 on 4 fast break going the other way. His FG% is starting to come back down to his career averages as well; that hitch in his jumper hasn't left yet and I can't imagine he'll ever be a good shooter with his broken mechanics.
I don't see the point in playing Emmanuel so much- he's in a contract year and will probably command somewhere in the 10 million per year range. I don't see much development/improvement in his game, the only thing I see different from him is he has a much longer leash than what he had back in Denver. He arguably has the second longest leash on this team after Tim who doesn't look like he'll ever be held accountable when he plays atrociously.

Frank had confidence in himself. You could see it in his face yesterday.
