I do not see the Rockets trading Wood this deadline for younger players or picks. They'd like to be somewhat competitive by 2024 because that's when they owe their next first to OKC.

If they wouldn't trade for Wiseman in 2021 because they wanted to be good in 2024, that says quite a bit about Wiseman's long-term prospects

I would think trading for Wiseman would jive perfectly because Wall expires right before then, and they could be building around Wiseman, whoever they draft this year, and an absolute boatload of capspace in a state with beneficial tax laws :dontknow:

I wouldn't overthink that part. In 2024, Wood will be 28 and squarely in his prime (if they are able to extend him by then), while Wiseman will only be 23 and possibly with a little more room to develop. If I'm in win now mode, I know which one I'd rather have. Which reminds me, we also owe a top 4 protected pick that year, but I imagine keeping Steph is nearly as consequential to what pick we give up as Wiseman's development.

True, but that's kind of typical in that he doesn't give up the ball.

Wiggins, Wiseman, & Wolves pick for Giannis still seems like a possibility for me especially if Bucks don't win anything this season.

What are they going to do with Wiggins and Wiseman? Plus they already mortgage their future with Giannis. They are not going to trade Giannis.

He can help guide Wiseman as a big man with a jumper. Wouldn't be opposed to it. Also we have minutes for him to play

Well, Pop says they are going to trade him. It would have to be something like Oubre + Looney + Mulder or other filler.

It would mean Wiggins going the other way, but I can see Pop doing that. Aldridge is old, but a 50/50 time share split with Wiseman would be great. Aldridge sets good screens and is a team guy that can step out and hit shots. Would love to nab Mills as well.

Wiggins/Pascall/Poole for Lamarcus/Mills

Nest season:

Curry / Mills / Mannion
Klay / Lee
Oubre / Bazemore
Green / JTA
Aldridge / Wiseman
+ 2 1st round picks, free agents, etc.

No. Just no. Aldridge is cooked, he does absolutely nothing to make this team better. If he came for free on a buyout then maybe but giving up assets to acquire him would be a fools errand.

Acquiring Drummond for anything more than free would also be ridiculous. He's a good rebounder but he's empty calories. Also people bitch about Wiseman's usage just wait until you have to live through Drummond post ups. He could be a great roll/cut garbage man center but he's too dumb and has too much of an ego to stay in his lane which is why he was given away for peanuts and likely will be again.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

I don't see either Paschall or Poole as assets. They are easily replaced 3rd stringers. Wiggins can be replaced with Oubre, who I like better as a keeper anyway. Aldridge is an expiring and we can resign him on the cheap int he offseason, same with Mills. There's a tonne of financial reasons to do this (Not that I usually care about that), but that would be appealing for Lacob. Aldridge may be well past his best, but he can still play and most importantly, mentor Wiseman.

I don't see the issue that you see with this sort of deal.

I always thought we would do a bridge trade and use the TPE to get James Johnson then package him with Looney and a 2nd rounder for Aldridge. Had Klay not gotten injured that may have been the direction. This lineup always made sense to me with more athletic guys like Chriss and or Wiseman behind Aldridge. Aldridge being a good pick n pop guy like Speights and West.

C Aldridge
PF Green
SF Wiggins
SG Thompson
PG Curry

At this point though using Oubre for Aldridge seems like a wash. Unless we grabbed Porter with the DPE on a buyout, in which case we might be slightly improved. Better shooting for sure.

I don’t see how moving Wiggins for LA makes the warriors better, No thanks.

Doesn't have to be Wiggins for LMA. Warriors could do it with Oubre + Looney.
