I didn't like the Harden trade for OKC, but man, they better hope Lamb pans out for them.

Re: Official Speculation Thread
i kinda like the idea of trading AA for Dragic but who knows wat the suns are doing. to me it looks like they are planning to let Gortat walk next year with the pick of len. they grab another young pg for a unathletic Wing. they should trade us Dragic for AA(it wouldnt help with tanking to a point but hes relatively young and decent contract.

Would an Afflalo + 2nd rounder for Jeremy Lamb/Nick Collison be too far fetched?

yes. we have no need for Collison whos strictly a Backup PF on a pretty Bad Deal who can not play defenseKrazySixersD wrote:Would an Afflalo + 2nd rounder for Jeremy Lamb/Nick Collison be too far fetched?

Who cares. His contract doesn't hurt us.

Re: Official Speculation Thread
Honestly guys we could probably do better than Lamb for AA. If there's no takers this summer let's wait until the deadline. Let's not go crazy for what has been a D leaguer (no insult to him btw) As some of you have said he was over shadowed by vets, but being sent to the D league leaves a lot to be desired.

The Thunder really need to make a move because they aren't going to be contenders without a decent shooting guard and I really don't think they will want to rely on a combo or Sefo/Lamb.

i think henny and crew have their reasons for letting bledsoe go. i think they were hesitant of trading a quality starting 2 guard for a backup pg. i do think bledsoe will be good for years but he might command some serious dollars if he has a breakout year.
where does this leave marshall or dragic?

Re: Official Speculation Thread
From what i hear the cba doesn't start to hit teams hard until this coming season. supposedly it's going to be the death of the middle class deals. When i think about it the owners really kicked the player's ass in this last negotiation, they basically cut out the middle class so the players that would usually fill up that space is probably going to get less money going forward

Marshall is terrible.

I think this is a fallacy, the death of the middle class deal. You aren't just going to get max guys and small contract guys. That's not how free markets work. If a guy is worth about $8-10 a yr, that's prob about what they'll get. The free market will work itself out. There aren't enough max guys to go around for every team and many players are worth more than $5m/yr. So of course you'll see middle deals. Looks at all the deals this summer already offered in that range. Evans, Martin, Iggy, West, Splitter etc etc. Plus you can't say that it's cuz the penalties haven't kicked in. They basically start kicking in next summer and these guys are getting 4-5 yr offers this summer. So of course the penalties are taken into account I'm these offers.

Re: Official Speculation Thread
Loved what Goran did as a starter on the houston team. and i think he would be a great complement to oladipo in the back court. He's a great ball handler and competitor...shoots the ball well and makes both the simple and flashy plays. His contract is rather similar to jameers which make it a little harder since they both have guaranteed contracts are options (meer- team option and goran a player option) in the next. I guess i have a lot of loyalty for jameer at the same time. but i can see Goran being a great option at pg for the next 4 or so years as well. His next contract will not be as expensive as his current i'm sure. And if we bring back jameers...his will be even cheaper. Goran 30 min + Jameer 18 min is a nice nice combo in my opinion.

Doesn't really matter though because after deciding to sign Ibaka to the big contract, they were going to lose Harden for nothing this summer. It's not like they traded Harden because they thought it would make their team better.

Re: Official Speculation Thread
I was the one that posted the Afflalo trade with OKC. My buddy "KrazySixersD" or whatever his tag is was here on draft night exploding on the sixers board about their trade. lol.
Anyway, I was on my way out to dinner, so I didn't get to explain that deal very well.
I think that deal would be awesome for us because of Lamb's potential. He could become a VERY strong 2 guard and Collison would just end up getting traded to a championship caliber team sometime during the year.
For OKC, they are in the championship hunt, Lamb serves no purpose at this time for them and Afflalo is a much better overall player than Martin. He would really improve the look of that roster.

Cheap ownership unfortunately. They could've kept all 4 guys. We would have. We are gonna be so lucky if we can manage to build 4 stars cuz I think ownership wont bat an eye to keep all 4.
