Melo think 20M per year isn't enough

Either way it's getting done today

1/2 of me wants to believe you. The other, well, we've been burned before...

@ESPNSteinLine: To this point, still no firm indication from Melo or his camp telling Bulls, Rockets or Mavs that they're out of the running. However ...

@ESPNSteinLine: Seeing how Bulls, Rockets and Mavs are all engaged with other free agents sure suggests they buy premise Melo is down to Knicks and Lakers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Bulls can offer a max contract if they get rid of Taj, right? If true, then why the hell do reporters and analysts keep saying we can't free up enough money?

I don't think #1 is really true. They would move him in a heartbeat if that would make Melo come.
The issue is that Melo wants to play with Gibson and that complicates matters if you do not have a commit from Melo.

Rose basically stole money from the Bulls and won't help them get other players

Cause they don't want Melo to come here. Say something long enough you may start to believe it.

That's why NBA contracts are insured. And even so, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if 1/2 the league offered Derrick Rose the free agent a max contract this summer.

Gonna take more than just Shumpert. They have no picks to deal(1sts I mean). The real question is... Can Philly sell that to their fans considered the injury plagued guys they already have and 23.4 mil is a lot to swallow when you are going to be bad for several seasons by design.

But honestly that 23.4 Mil from Amar'e doesn't prevent them from doing anything this upcoming season cause they were gonna suck anyway. And he comes off the books next year.

If you can get Shump and some draft picks, it may be worth it.

You are a rebuilding team, you need fully healthy players to at least make it look like you're trying.
Embiid is out for 8 months, Noel is a unknown, Young and MCW are the only truly proven assets and they need to win.

From what I see, Philly and the general NBA crowd likes what Sam Hinkie's been doing for the past 2 years now so I think they know he's trying. Plus, the players they have is a wait and see situation so there's nothing to gain this year. Might as well suck one more time.

But again, I wouldn't want Amar'e if I were the Sixers. Just saying I can understand that they'd be willing to do it. Much like how I was hoping we could get these guys involved in taking Boozer. For much of the same reasons.
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

Apparently moving a good productive player like Taj on a fair contract is impossible, but moving Amare is possible because of Shump... That's what I am supposed to believe anyways.

Phil Jackson probably watching this Chris Bosh situation closely...if Bosh leaves, Melo can walk to Miami. Phil wouldnt let that happen imo. I feel he would rather trade him to the Bulls to get assets.

If we lose Melo the front office failed again. They gambled on keeping the roster together + adding Melo and lost.

Rose should have dressed up like Batman and rolled into the Melo meeting in the Batmobile.

DC > Marvel, we would have had him signed by Friday. Mort agrees with I'm sure.

First, you cannot just say some nonsense like that and just act like it's nothing.
There is no universe in which DC is better.

Batman beats all other superheroes, but I will concede that Marvel has a much deeper roster.

I consider the Tobey Maguire Spiderman movies to be some of the most unwatchable garbage ever produced by Hollywood. I was once stuck on a tarmac for two hours and they played one of them while we waited. I wanted to gouge out my eyes.
