No doubt. He was an amazing villain. The entire cast was brilliant. Hamm, Ansel, Spacey...not one bad one. As for the music, felt like a cartoon. Crazy. I likened it to Floyd and The Wizard Of Oz. Although, they "claim" that was unintentional. Regardless, Baby Driver was hands down my favorite movie so far this year. Looking forward to Planet of the Apes this weekend.

I watched Baby Driver today. I agree with the above, it's a great movie, with brilliant editing and music. Some of the car chase scenes kinda reminded me of the classic chase scene from The French Connection. And Eiza Gonzalez is HOT.

One of the previews was for Flatliners. It looks like this is a sequel to the very mediocre movie with the same name from 1990 or so. At this point in time, the laziness and lack of creativity in Hollywood is beyond belief.

I read that after Edgar Wright dropped out of Ant-Man due to creative differences with the script it was this script that he turned back to writing. He is really one of the good screenwriter's out thee. Looking at his credits including this and the Shawn of the Dead trilogy, he's done some original stuff.

Edgar Wright is one of those few Directors with original ideas, who is willing to take risks. Like Christopher Nolan, Matthew Vaughn and some others. I would have loved to see his Ant-Man vision. Shaun of the Dead is still one of my favorite movies of all time.

And SD...Flatliners looks like ****. lol

This song is a guilty pleasure. Feel like they were a modern AC/DC in the sense that they always wrote the same song. IMO, this is the best iteration of that song.

Anyhow, RIP.

Couple of great songs with Chester just airing it out. Just an awesome unique voice. I pray nobody has these thoughts. There is always another choice. There is absolutely ZERO shame in going to therapy and asking for help.

When someone commits suicide it means their brain has a medical problem, imho. So it has nothing to do with what they seem to have going for them. They're depressed and that's that.

In the last few days I watched two excellent movies.

First, "Far from the madding crowd." I'm sure I would've fallen asleep had I seen this movie when I was 25, but now that I'm nearing 50 this thing was right up my alley. Great acting by everyone, especially Carey Mulligan and -- to a slightly lesser extent -- Matthias Schoenaerts. Slow-paced affair, but impeccably done.

Then, "The diving bell and the butterfly." This one had been on my to-watch list for years, even if I didn't know what it was about. All the critical acclaim is well deserved. Three people in my family have suffered strokes (including my dad and my sister in law), so this movie truly hit close to home. Based on a true story (the book was actually written by the main character), this is another slow-paced film, worth every minute.

I wish Netflix had more of this quality stuff.

I went and saw Dunkirk last night. I thought it was really good, pretty intense from pretty much the opening scene, amazing visually, interesting way of telling the story, Hans Zimmer's score.

Nolan seems to cop a bit of a beating from critics and Internet loud mouths at times for pretty nitpicky stuff. In the age of the reboot/sequel/remake/prequel, I applaud anyone who makes original, interesting, technically impressive movies even if they have a few flaws (I do see a slight irony in that comment since Nolan made three Batman movies). I thoroughly enjoyed Interstellar as well.

I thought interstellar was a supremely mediocre movie.

Madding Crowd as in the Tom Hardy novel?

Never seen Diving Bell but I know the story behind it. Incredible stuff.

Love the maddening crowd. Matthias is a brilliant actor. If you haven't, check out "Bullhead" and "Rust and Bone".

Haven't seen "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly". Always have wanted to. Not sure why I never made the time.

If you haven't seen "The Intouchables", you really need to. Based on the two movies you just saw, I think you'd really enjoy it. Please see it before Hollywood releases (and destroys) the American version with Kevin Hart and Brian Cranston.
