I like Jae and wouldn’t mind him coming back but he’s not that good anymore. His defense even sucks now and he shoot’s 40% from the field. I can’t say for certain he’s an upgrade over anyone at his position we already have

jae has something very few people in the nba have... experience, that knows how to play and is serviceable... it is not that I love the way he plays, is that he can be a glue guy... that is if we get him cheap!

His price is $10,183,800, which needs to come from our other players because we're nearly in the luxury tax. If he is bought out, maybe we would have a place for him, but I'd rather give his minutes to Caleb Martin.

If Hawks don't pick him up I think we take a good look at Crowder at the deadline when our guys are trade eligible and we have a gauge on rotation mins

A true Miami faithful. Dipo redemption tour loading
the heat also gave him a second chance when nobody wanted to... just saying...

That’s a nice story but not reality. The Rockets put out a 20 mil a year contract, 20 mil a year contract that he rejected and then got traded. I’m sure his agent at the time was furious at that questionable decision. It will be interesting to see if he gets anywhere near that number this off season.

So according to Ira Dipo must’ve got worse this offseason to the point he went from being a major contributor towards the end of the playoffs to not even being in the rotation? I guess we’ll see

Its the strangest thing. He was cleared to play towards the end of last season. Naturally I expected him to just be cleared like anybody else at the start of this season. He must have had a setback or tweaked something. It makes no sense. Ira is saying that it is because of a log jam of guards, essentially. However, he is the one person that we needed to see what he had. The caution in playing him was somewhat confusing.

Mychal Mulder didn't even get a chance to unpack his bag before he was waived again.

They are being waived so they can play for Sioux Falls. It's how Exhibit 10 contracts are executed. He will get $50000 and then the $35000 for the G-League contract.

Its not an injury thing, its a cohesion and fit thing, he is isn't there yet. This training camp and preseason has made most of us aware there are some other guys infront of him based on production and fit. They are just kinda prepping us that we may not see him play Herro minutes from last year as sixth man until later in the season.

Bam (3 games) and Herro (2 games) preseason stats adjusted to playing 4 quarters:

Bam: 28.4-5.7-4 on 18FGA 1.3 3FGA 11 FTA 58%/33%/68% shooting splits.

I need those 3 attempts up to 3, rebounding will
Increase when we actually play defense and the free throw percentage I need at 80%-85%. The correct scoring and shooting attempts overall are there though. Playmaking has been great and obviously he’s doing it while being the best defender in the world.

Herro: 30-6.7-3.3 on 19.3FGA 8 3FGA 5.3FTA 52%/58%/100% shooting splits.

Obviously the efficiency will drop but I like the increase in free throws. I’d like to see him get to 7 attempts. Flirting with the 50-40-90 club would go a long way for Herro.

The quotes I’ve been seeing from some of the starters are almost like they’re lobbying for Jovic to be the starter

Lowry/Herro/Jimmy/Jovic/Bam should be the obvious 5 to start the regular season. Caleb swapped for Jovic would also be solid, but he just makes the unit too undersized. Remember Lowry is short even for a PG and Herro/Jimmy have stubby arms for their height. Jovic needs to beef up a bit but he's not that skinny and his length could at least bother some opponents. He's also a solid rebounder (averaged 12.2 rebounds per 36 in preseason).

I think Martin should be the starter at the 4, and I believe Spo will role with that to begin the season. Jovic should still see 15-20 minutes of playing time a night though with plenty of those next to Bam.

My theory is Dipo was signed in case Herro was traded for someone or couldn't be resigned. The Heat waited until training camp to see where Herro was and I think they understood that Herro is still improving and is better than Dipo going forward.

So now that it's settled, Dipo is more of a reserve player. So they are taking it easy with him and giving him the 6th man or whatever he will be.

Just hope Jovic doesn’t get the Yurt treatment from last season. I understand being patient with a prospect but too much patience leads to regression

He might be, not the worst thing tho.

Yurt got a good amount of burn last year, guys are going to be in and out and theoretically Jovic is more position flexible then yurt it.

Never know with preseason games, we watched Norris Cole looks insane in the preseason, but Jovic looks different then other bench players.

I think some guys are good passers, then you have guys that look like they can run a half court offense. Jovic to me, looks more like he can at least somewhat run an offense. The bench team has gotten better with him on the court.

I have no idea if he can play with the way he uses up Dedmon's fouls like that, but all the guys who REALLY don't want him sent down to get more games in...I think I agree with them.

I think Spo is going to give a lot of the young guys good runs through the season but come playoff time, It is going to be:

Kyle
Herro
Jimmy
Gabe
Bam
Dipo
Dedmon (If he isn't traded)
Duncan

If one of these young ones truly shines he may get a shot in the playoffs but other than that it will be a very short rotation of guys he trusts.
