Only thing saving them from complete and utter disaster if this fails is the Stepien rule.

Wiz got what they wanted. Not much else to say. Even with two 1st that we did or did not offer was on the table still not enough for the clean book sweep and every damn last second Suns had. Teams just don’t want Duncan’s contract. Herro’s was also a tough sell for them as well with Davis on rookie contract ready at a fraction of the cost. We got unlucky it sucks i know.

Miami's First round picks are teethering on early second rounders, so yeah you throw 6 of them at a team they potentislly outway 2 FRP's and then a Bad contract.

I would be interested to know if we got another big to pair alongside Bam if CP3 would come sign for cheap here

Send Washington Olidipo+Lowry, and a 1st for Kristaps

CP3/Dragic/Cain
Herro/Strus
Butler/Martin/Robinson
KP/Love
Bam/??

To me that’s a championship lineup if healthy in the playoffs

I agree with Barkley when he says Durant is a bus rider instead of a bus driver. They have 3 bus riders right now. They won’t win.

You honestly really believe Wiz wanted Duncan? Really?……Really?

I'm just now listening to 5 reasons talk about it, seems Miami decided that Robinson's bad contract had to be in the trade since Beal is overpaid.

I have 0 belief that a team rebuilding wanted Robinson and his 18 mil a year for the next 3 years vs an expiring contract of Oladipo. Any expiring contracts that Washington got could have been flipped for someone's trash and trade assets like OKC has been doing with Hartford, Kemba, CP3...

It sounds like they were trying to use... LEVERAGE once again too much and tried not to give up anything so they could do more trades, I think Riley overplayed his hand again.

Whatever you feelings are about Robinson, he wasnt the issue in the trade. It was about picks. The only player that was an issue was Jovic.

But, but, no one can ever say or question they didnt go all in...could you say the samw about the Heat organization?

I don't think Miami should go all in either though. Good organizations can create win now teams while having a younger timetable to develop after. Miami can build a complete roster and still compete for years with players like Bam. This Big 3 for the Suns feels more like the Nets Big 3. I just don't see them winning a title. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

The reason it was about picks/Jovic was because they were being told they had to take Robinson back. Asset wise he would have been a very cheap acquisition and Miami got greedy, drug this out and Phoenix jumped in and got him. Miami thought they had this in the bag and decided to go as cheap as possible and lost out on a nice talent that would have complemented Butler and Bam well. Maybe not the perfect guy but possibly the best guy they could acquire.

While true, pretty sure this same dude would have been pushing Beal as a done deal (until a few hours ago) to our eager fanbase :banghead:

I’ve said it a few times in the past but I wouldn’t be entirely too surprised to see LeBron ask for a trade out of LA. This is my off-season conspiracy theory

LA is in a position with their roster where a complete tear down would make sense. I don’t really see a meaningful path forward for them to win a title. LeBron is 39 years old. LA could get themselves in a situation between Lebron and AD trades to be stacked with cap space and picks, they don’t really have much on the books outside of them.

LeBron has 1-2 more runs left in him, I just don’t think he really believes he can make it shake in LA, given what Denver returns and the Suns have formed.

You can disagree but the roster is legitimately built for LeBron to thrive. You can run lineups with two shooters, Jimmy, and Bam with Bron at the 4. If I’m Riley, I’m in my 70s I want one more ring I’m going to get LeBron James.

That's really been the biggest problem for us in whale hunting. We strike out typically because we don't really ever have the assets or the appeal. These dudes want to play with other stars and we'll just sell these guys "Heat culture" and that we have some solid guys who work hard. It was easier to recruit LeBron when he knew Wade and Bosh were going to be here too. We always lose these chases because we're always the underdog in them to begin with. We never have a roster where it's complete and 1 guy away (not many teams have to be clear). It's always a hard sell. The location isn't enough. Or we never have enough draft picks or the cap space.

5 reasons... although they said they didn't hear the final offer.

Also, if they needed expirings they could have brought in a 3rd team to make that happen.

So we’re actively recruiting Dame. Bam is his boy and the organization is selling him on Jimmy as well.

The literal perfect fit next to Jimmy and Bam on the heat from a basketball, timeline, contract, asset standpoint

I remember the KD sweepstakes and eventual disappointment. We're running this team back.

Apparently, Pat Riley will be releasing a statement later tonight. Stay tuned.
