Yea, when you think of Noel, basically think of what guys like Noah and Chandler are able to do with defending the rim but add the ability to play the passing lanes and get out in transition to that. He's just a great player to have.

just looking at Harrison Barnes, the guy i thought was better than Beal and I think is way better than him. I just wonder if most of the people on this board think that Porter comes anywhere close to Barnes? Just shows how horrible EG is at running the ship. I tell him Adams and Bennett are one and two in this draft and he goes out and drafts a bum like porter, len, or Zeller.
Or better yet, goes out and trades for a stretch 4 using the 3rd overall pick when stretch 4 are suppose to be paid matt bonner, steve novak type money and come off the bench in strategically at select moments in the game? This management is horrible and I give them a framework, free advise, and they shoot themselves in the foot every time.

just go to 2:00 minutes of the video. You guys have homer shades if you think Beal is on Barnes level. Beal is decent spot up shooter if he is wide open, but Barnes is a far more complete player. Look at us this year, we spent 300 pages discussing a bum like porter when we had Barnes in our pocket last year. On a scale from 1 to 10, Barnes is 8.5 and Porter is a 3.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

I hear you, WizD. I gave Leonsis free advice about the urinal cakes, and he completely ignored me.

Barnes isn't as good as Porter period.

And better than Beal?

We need to get some Danny Green/Gary Neal type shooters off the bench on our team. We oughta use a 2nd rounder on Curry. I know he can shot and he can create a little bit.

Just seems crazy to me.

Maybe you aren't seeing it like others are.

I wouldn't move Okafor and Ariza for a pick in this draft. No way.

Thats way to much talent and experience to give up on the team. Wall and Beal need that steadiness.

If you move either, you better bring back some talent and experience.

Agreed on Curry. When you're talking about a super late second getting a guy who is guaranteed to knock down the longball as a roleplayer is about as good as you can do.

I'd rather not move them either hands...but Ernie already tried to move Ariza for Butler. I'm pretty terrified of our GM.

Porter = Kawhi Leonard with more offensive potential.

Personally I'd move Beal for a box of Cheerios. Who wants more all star appearances on our team anyways?

No need to give them Seraphin. It works with just Vesely and Singleton as salary ballast.

If the deal ends up Vesely, Singleton, #3 for Ilyasova, #15. I will say the deal might work out depending on who the #15 pick is.

Ilyasova might be up to three years older than his listed 26 years of age.

His ability to stretch the floor would work very well with Wall's slashing ability. His offense with decent rebounding at his contract amount make him a bargain. He's a stretch four Wall would like.

The deal would be better for Milwaukee. It still could also be good if Washington found a quality, future starter at 15, which is very possible.

Why do you say that Ersan may be up to 3 years older than his listed age? I have never heard that before.

I would pick BPA at 3 and see if I could trade other Assets for Anderson or Illyasova. If I didn't get a bite, I would draft Erik Murphy or try to fill the need for a pick and pop PF elsewhere.

Noel makes me nervous. I think I read on RealGM that he had a growth plate injury in his knee in HS that caused him to miss significant time. In kids that are still growing, the growth plate often fails before the ACL. I wonder if the 1st injury wasn't very similar and whether Noel may just be very susceptible to this type of injury. As a guy who is going to make his living based on his athleticism and not based on other skills, it will be a huge concern if Noel isn't going to be able to retain his explosiveness over the long term, because of these knee injuries.

On the other hand, just how bad were those medical red flags that could let him slip? Is it a matter of needing more time or is it a matter of long term damage? I could definitely live with more rehab time - not everyone needs to come back in Peterson-esque superhuman timetables. Even if he misses the next season entirely I'd be fine with it. Give him the Blake Griffin experience.

Thats good, because you can count on him missing the entire next season.

They play Webster to start who is a top 3 ball shooting SF who still has some hops, with a defensive strong smart front court. The scoring is mostly Wall, Beal, Webster.

They then roll out a top defensive SF that can still score but less of one then Webster.

When Kevin has it going right, he can score. Problem is consistent rebounding. So if he isn't doing that, they put in Booker who doesn't shoot as well. If Kevin simply makes the next natural step that he should, he will have locked that back up PF slot with Booker backing him up. Position set. Nene, Kevin, Booker.

What they need is a scoring SG off the bench, a long defensive C and a true back up PG.

All these additions are huge for this team.

In reality, Burke, CJM, McLemore, VO would help this team as much as Len, Noel would.

Difference is, a Len or Noel could start in the future. At #3, if you use the pick, you draft a center.

Its its Noel, fine. He is a marque name. Might not play next year but that ok if they fill those other positions. There will still be improvement.

There are plenty of good picks in the 2nd.

Porter and Murphy

It's such perfect fit it's beyond no-brainer.

Please just keep it simple Ernie.

I just have such a feeling he's going to f-it up.

Depending what you judge strength on, he may have Porter beat in that department although I think he did less bench presses than him. Leonard is a monster rebounder for a SF. I really think when Porter adds 20-30 lbs he could be a small ball 4 as well.

The issue's that if the Cavaliers are under a win-now mandate from ownership, they're about 80+% likely to take Porter, who complements Irving perfectly.

Meh, our FO was under a win now mandate last offseason too. We're picking third now, and the FO is still here. **** happens, everyone knows that. They want to sell season tickets.

Kyrie and Varejao will probably get hurt and then there is your excuse. That team is absolutely not ready to win now as is, and no draft pick is going to change that. They are at the stage right now where they have to rely on the internal improvement of their young players to make strides, just like we did.

I don't think they take Porter #1. It's just a bad #1 type pick by historical standards. You don't take a skinny, grounded, awkward running, funny shooting, unexplosive SF who averaged 16 PPG #1.

You take the hyper athlete like McLemore or Noel. Or you take the 7'1 gymnast that can shoot.

If the Cavs want Porter, then I think they trade down. You have to go BPA at #1. That pick has to end up being an All Star or he's a bust plain and simple. That stain will be on him for all time. Noel should be their pick unless his knee is totally ruined because he's the only blue chipper in the class. The kid is the best prospect to come out of the Boston area since Ewing. Cleveland doesn't have a long term 5. It shouldn't be too hard a choice for them.
