lol@ CLE thinking they can get b2b #1 picks. I guess their blatant tanking wasn't enough, now they think they can bribe their way to #1. I think if a team had the 2nd and 3rd picks and offered both for #1 it wouldn't even be a fair deal then, let alone for 4/24. Thats a joke offer, tbh.

Why is it considered tanking if a bad team loses a lot of games?

You guys and your asinine conspiracy theories need to go away.

You can't be serious. The Cavs were in contention for the 8th seed most of the year. Thats a bad team? Then they suddenly lose like every game the last month of the season, when they realize they probably won't make the playoffs. Thats the definition of tanking.

You guys and your blind ignorance, who probably still believe in santa claus, need to go away.

The Cavs were in the hunt until Varejao got hurt. Then they traded Sessions away, Irving got hurt, and were starting 3 d-leaguers at one point. And you think they had to try to lose? Stupid.

I think Davis will be a beast in a few years.

Lol @ the ignorance of saying its a joke offer. Most picks in the draft, 4 draft picks to move up 3 spots.

I get the feeling they'll bump it up within his first year. Davis is legit, and if injuries don't derail him, he's going to be every bit as good as he appears to be.

so you think davis will be a top 10 player in his rookie year? lawl

i think davis will be a pretty good player but his hype is jokes and he won't even be close to the kg or hof big some project him out to be.

Seriously? Giving up the first pick for a guy who you hope can become a solid rotation guy (24) and two picks who may not even make the roster is a fair offer?

You conveniently forgot the #4 pick

That would give NO

#4, #10, #24, #33, #34 (Plus whatever 2nd rd picks NO has)

Irving was so "hurt", he was out dressing up as an old man playing streetball only weeks after the season ended.

Everyone knows the Cavs are tankers. Its no conspiracy. They did it in '03 to get LeBron, they did it in '11 when they lost like 30 games in a row, and did it again this year to try to get Davis. That's how they roll, lol.

Bitter Pistons fan alert.

Yup, the Cavs were in contention for the 8th seed...until Varejao broke his wrist, and Irving started missing games, and Sessions was traded. But yeah, other than that they were totally a playoff caliber team until they blatantly tanked!

Maybe you should pay closer attention. Irving came back and played some at the end of the season.

Your bitterness is palpable.

If Cleveland offered this deal to the Bobcats it would be a good starting point on a deal, since the Bobcats are a team that needs the quantity of draft picks rather than quality. Also the difference between 2 and 4 isn't quite as big.

haven't read through the whole thread but are some people actually acting like this isn't an abysmal offer? So just because the Hornets get the 4th pick and a bunch of other medicre picks for the 1st (who is one of the more heralded prospects in years) it should be seen as sufficient?

Its like offering somebody 50 one dollar bills for a single hundred dollar bill. Its an awful offer.

Moving up to get the 2nd is at least in the realm of possibility, no idea why they tried this. Trying to get Davis with these picks is a joke but it doesn't hurt to make the offer.

After what the Hornets GM tried to do with the Lakers/Rockets trade it doesn't hurt to see if he would bite on another bad deal.

Lol you're not wrong...I certainly would see where the limit to his stupidity ends...or if it ends at all. But at the same time the Paul deal was just a really bad trade (but a case where a trade HAD to be made or else he was leaving for nothing). Trading Anthony Davis for anything less than another young, franchise player would just be on a completely different level of moronic.

You never know though. Anybody a big baseball fan here and remember when the Mets dealt an elite young prospect, Scott Kazmir (he didn't really pan out after more than a few years but at the time he was as heralded as they come) for a mediocre pitcher already close to 30...Victor Zambrano? So I guess stuff like this can happen but you have to encounter the dumbest of the dumb.

I'm still waiting for him to be fired. If the new owner keeps him on for next season I will be shocked.

They aren't my team so I guess I shouldn't care about it too much but for some reason I do.
