My all roto team is coming along nicely... Screw Jazz for picking Harden, I would have had the best roto guard combo!

That's why I didn't pick Dwight. And considering that Ibaka and Rondo don't shoot that many FTs, I'm thinking I'll be ok.

Are we allowed to discuss undrafted players? We've all pretty much seen all the names I'd think. Would it bother anyone, or is it just common courtesy to not discuss a player until drafted?

I don't intend to fully punt FT% -- I'm going to try to surround Dwight with high FT%/attempts players. LeBron isn't too bad and Kyle Lowry is a lights-out FT shooter. The allure of pairing LeBron and Dwight was just too much...even in a roto league.

Just punt. Youll be bottom 3 in the cat even if you surround them with free throw shooters.

If PP is a bad pick you can attribute it to me hurrying while my two kids are screaming at me.

Kinda like the scene from Swordfish. Just without the good parts.

Story of my life for most of my drafting...except, add 2 more kids to that.

personal mental note: Must draft when kids are asleep next year.

No excuse, I had 25 kids when I made my last pick!

I don't recommend it, but it can be done.

Last year my roto league live drafted while I was at my wife's parents house on xmas vacation. I had enough internet to draft, but not enough to track individual categories as my team drafted.

The result was I unintentionally punted 3ptrs. I thought about trying to catch up as the season took shape and I realized my position, but in the end it made more sense to completely give up on it and try to gain points in the other categories. I ended up in a 3 way tie for 1st on the last day, after never having been in 1st any other day of the season.

This was a 12 team league and the final roto standings were:
61
61
61
60.5
59
56.5
54
51
45
41.5
40.5
33

It was an exciting finish with so many teams having a shot at the crown up to the last day. 3 more assists and I would have been in solo first instead of tied.

But 3si is correct in general. The only reason I had a chance in this league with a punted cat was because it was unusually competitive between half a dozen teams. That kept the total points required to win much lower than most leagues, giving some life to teams with a punted cat - life they normally wouldn't have.

I think you'll have more success punting in a strong league. The more pairity your league has the less punting will hurt.

I'm just making sure, but this league has an 8 hour limit right? By my calculations, Woody has about 2.5 hours before I skip him.

8 hours is correct. But woody has picked now, so you're up.

Yah, I knew they were going to go fast so I went PG/PG with my first two picks. Which also helped *cause* them to go fast. Self fulfilling prophecy.
