Here comes wave two of the draft.

Len and CJM are now healthy and playing.

Still a tough draft looking at the top 6 with Bennett sucking, Noel still injured, Otto MIA ( Randy ), and Cody off to a bad start, but there was also.

MCW
VO
Burke
Tim Hardaway
Giannis
and now we will have Kelly Ryan, CJM and Len

We will get a few more names on the list in time. Adams will look better and better.

Oladipo will probably be the breakout star of the 2nd half. ORL will trade Affllao and then a lot of their games the last few months will be meaningless and defended easier by the opponent. I see consistently putting up 18+ pts for a while and getting people excited

Bennett actually showed a pulse the other night dropping 15/8 on the Pelicans.

This draft close was really lame.

Maybe drafting a SF with two other starting quality SFs on the roster wasn't such an ideal use of resources (cough, said it all summer long, cough).

Yes it is an outlandish concept because one guy wasn't on the roster and the other guy only had a year left. Both would be UFAs and both are just role players.

Making draft picks around role players is dumb. Even making draft picks around good players is dubious. Having Arenas on the roster is probably what prompted EG to trade the 5th pick for Miller/Foye.

Only Boston with two players, Olynyk and Sullinger - pretty nice start to a frontcourt. And Vitor Faverani isn't that bad. I can see why Ainge is thinking of keeping Rondo. He can back fill the wings and be ready to compete pretty quickly... Looks like they will be at $45M in cap spaced used next year.

Steven Adams, Trey Burke, Michael Carter-Williams, Kelly Olynyk, or Mason Plumlee and been in pretty good shape with this draft. Maybe Porter will still turnout, who knows.

Olynyk and Plumlee are both two or three years older than Otto. KO even took a redshirt season to build his body up for NCAA ball. Mason Plumlee came into the NBA with a grown man's muscularity. He's a stud athlete on top of that.

Otto knows how to play. There is no doubt in my mind that he does. But Washington has not been able to wait on young players. They have historically lacked resolve, failed to support, and given up way too soon. Otto is likely not a bust, but IMO he's two years from being serviceably good.

The Wizards are going to be amazed at how much he improves in two or three years ... perhaps with another team. Porter simply needs to add lean muscle mass, and to catch up with the speed of the NBA game. Defensively and offensively he needs what Micheal Cooper, Reggie Miller, Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and other skinny greats learned. Every one of them were scrappy and determined to fight back.

I like Otto and Wil Barton, but both guys are built like tooth picks.

The Rockets sent Jones to D-League for virtually all his rookie season. Otto needs that, too, IMO.
