Yay!! Oh wait, actively shopping doesn't mean someone wants to actively buy. Well, here's to hoping.

One nice thing about Kidd as POBO and coach. If Hammond were still GM, Kidd would have the power to call Hammond to his office and say "Get rid of some of these power forwards. I don't need ten of them."

Lets also keep in context that if he is hired as POBO there most likely going to hiring a GM. Im hoping if this is true he is on the sidelines as well.

Marc Stein is baked out of his mind.

Kidd would be replacing Herb Kohl, I think we're going to be okay.

Hmm...

i don't really see how this is anything shady..

lis, it's just lasry hiring his friend. he prolly thinks it's a grand idea.

one thing that bugs me about this, is i can totally see kidd as a "feel" type of guy like so many former players are. like "shabazz napier should go in the lottery cause he valiantly brought his team to the championship". i really wanted this front office filled with basketball stat nerds. ones who use scouting AND hard statistics to make decisions.

He's likely referring to the possibility Kidd intentionally sabotaged his relationship with the Nets because he had a deal lined up with the Bucks

Bingo. It's apparent Lasry and Kidd plotted this whole plan behind the scenes. He's essentially negotiating with a person under contract without Nets permission. Bucks were granted permission to discuss only after Kidd was rebuffed after making his ludicrous demands to try and force their hands.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

But the best way to build the team is talking to Popovich and hiring a retread. /sarcasm

I confess. I want Kidd because he can bring back Shaun Livingston to run the point.

Interesting news. I am kind of skeptical on letting Kidd be President. Lasry was a Nets minority owner and knows Kidd. I would guess they have discussed basketball on occasion. Maybe Lasry liked those discussions and his plan for building a basketball team. The PBO job is one of strategic thinking and letting others do their job. I have no idea how good of a job he would do at it. He can't be much worse than the previous President (Kohl). :)
Trade S. Jackson soon. NJ seems like a nice place for him.

We should probably just try to look at some successful team, then try to just sort of copy everything they do and paste it here.

Yeah I find it hard to believe Kidd actually thought he was going to be granted the POBO title over Ruzinov. Why not just try to overtake King? And then by the time the internal Nets stuff hits the media there's already whispers of him in deep negotiations with the Bucks? Doesn't sound kosher to me.

I'm not sure Kidd would come in a fire everyone. He would probably evaluate the front office and coaching staff this year and make changes as he sees fit, which could entail him taking over the coaching resposibilities.

This whole thing seems orchestrated. None of the names that the new owners interviewed for POBO have been made public.
