I think this is more correct than all the other interpretations of why Trump won. That and Hillary lost it with a bad campaign.

But the natural rebound to this is: sh*t, this guy really sucks. I wanted him to kick-ass but I didn't want him to make America look really bad. And he hasn't moved his agenda forward like he promised.

And that then sticks to the Rs. How it comes out is that Rs then don't come out and vote - kind of like what happened with HRC (only much worse).

And now the rebound back to the Ds. But... we will just rebound back to the Rs unless the DNC and Democratic leadership on a federal level figures it out.

At this point, it's far more important that the Dems have it figured out at the state and local level, rather than the federal level, because that's where the battles will be fought in 2018. Yes, it will be important that the DNC is stronger and more effective than it has been, but the real work/winning will take place at the grass-roots level, like it did in Virginia yesterday.

The great voter turnout for Dem candidates in Virginia is a reflection of what happens when the Dems have their act together at the state and local level.

And the Republican party fell to 23%

So - the Ds will get their chance again. Question is, will they fall on their behinds again?

My take is that these foolish sitting (R's) that hold a majority right now just got woke da fuq up. yesterday's elections signal a complete bloodbath in 2018.

they realize this. Historically the 1st term incumbent loses majority if he has it.

the only chance (R's) have to keep the majority is to:

1. get Tax reforms done.
2. the budget with it.
3. get daca and immigration reform done with the financing for the wall which will tied into the budget and daca.

But tax reform comes first.

4. And the cherry on top will be to cave in on Obamacare. fix Obamacare. keep the name, fully embrace it.

and make a deal with Barrack himself in order to save Obamacare where Barrack makes a full endorsement of the Obamacare tweaks to endorse it. and perhaps even give it a 20 year charter after the tweaks. R's win. Obama wins. Obama care wins. daca wins. the wall wins. tax reform wins.

The republicans should have a fire lit under the butts right now.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

Fake news, but Democrat rankings will likely rise as voters view Democratic state level successes and look to the future of the party rather than concentrating on the soon-to-be-gone dinosaurs of the past. As the state-level successes fuel enthusiasm and voter turnout, translating to consolidation of power on a Federal level in 2018, Trump will be on the ropes for the remainder of his technical lame-duck term, the Democrats being able to retake control of all levels of the Federal government with a sweeping mandate that won't require restoring any past legislation, since Trump won't have accomplished anything, so the Democrats can focus on introducing new improvements and permanently winning over those formerly disaffected centrists who have come to realize that Trump and his cronies were never in their court. It all goes back to the banking system.

You can't play it any dirtier that the DNC and HRC palyed it in 2016.

meanwhile Donna Brazile is not backing down. at all. on MSNBC today agina speaking about primary being rigged and unfair and unethical.

Tom Perez, current DNC chair, today finally admitting: " the DNC did put its best foot forward in 2016, and because of that we have gaps of trust gaps...I know that we have more work to do...making sure the 2020 election cycle is fair to everyone. We fell short on that in 2016."

This is all such BS. Clinton didn't need the DNC; they needed her. Without her, they would have gone bankrupt. And she didn't need them because she over-whelmingly defeated Sanders in the primary. She clinched it in early June, 2016. And Sanders supporters need to just stop. She destroyed him 17 million to 13 million in the popular vote and destroyed him in number of delegates. She was expected to beat him by even more, but that doesn't take away from the fact that she... destroyed him. And Sanders raised so little money, it was a joke. If he had somehow won the nomination, he would have had to rely on the money Hillary raised - which is something Trump would have rightly ridiculed Sanders for doing. If anyone on the Dem side had a better chance than Hillary against Trump, it was Biden, but he decided not to run.

Donna Brazille is a dishonest clown who didn't have any idea of how to run the DNC and is now obviously trying to benefit for her incompetence by selling a book.

STD, I know you're out there on your own, and bravo for you, but your posts are long and numerous enough, so try not to repost your own long post 30 minutes and one page later. At least rephrase and add some links. Do some investigative reporting.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Yeah, that poll is pretty much meaningless. Better to look at this map:

I wonder how, taking districting, gerrymandering, etc. into account, this projects onto congressional elections.

C’mon SD20, the Repubs didn’t lose decisively in Virginia because they didn’t repeal Obamacare or pass tax reform. They lost because of the divisive bully and liar in the White House who has singlehandedly mobilized and energized Dems and the left, and who has lost the support of most of the independents who once backed him.

If the Repubs want to avoid a bloodbath in 2018, they’ll need to take on and shut down the narcissistic egomaniac in the White House. Something that some Republican leaders like Senators Cornyn and Flake have already tried to do.

But I wouldn’t expect a Trumpite like yourself to acknowledge that reality.

BTW, SD20, have you've seen the recent CNN poll on Trump's numbers after one year in office? It's historically low in every possible area. Sad.

Here the poll in case you missed it: http://edition.cnn.com/videos/politics/2017/11/06/cnn-poll-trump-approval-rating-historic-low-king-bts-lead.cnn

I'm not sure getting financing for the wall helps Trump. To most this seems like a waste of money.

So you mean to tell me that Clinton is some criminal mastermind that colluded with Russia but is too incompetent to actually use any of the made up dirt? This has got to be the stupidest talking point from the right wing news. Not to mention the timing of this is suspicious as hell after indictment Monday last week.

Meanwhile we have direct evidence that Trump's team directly met with Russian operatives that offered dirt on Clinton and mention STOLEN emails yet no one from the Trump team goes to the authorities. You have to be on some serious dope to believe this.
