I don't think he's the guy to solve our problems but I would give OKC a call about Rubio. I'd take him on the Bucks.

The devil is always in the draft pick details. Wondering what PHX gives up.

Looks like a 2022 1st. Guessing there will be some kind of protection on it.
Edit: There it is

That Westbrook for Paul trade was a historic-level heist by Presti.

I like Phoenix on this one. With Paul, Rubio is redundant. And always viewed Oubre as a volume scorer guy on a bad team. The pick is protected out 4 years.
In the meantime, the Suns should win 45-50 games if they can assemble the rest of the roster well (big if).

Presti is a great GM.
He simply has to now strike with a couple difference makers in the draft over the next two years. Not sure anyone could repeat the Durant, Westbrook, Harden trifecta (2007, 2008, 2009)

Can someone help me with what Rubio really does for us? I don't see it.

Presti is a wizard lol.
He turned a second-wheel Paul George and an overpaid and less-effective-than-ever Russell Westbrook into Oubre, Gallinari, Shai, Rubio, those other Suns dudes, 7 (it's 7, right?) first round picks and 2 pick swaps.

I love the deal for Phoenix. Booker is ready to compete now and with 4 years left on his deal the clock is ticking they need to try to win now. This is a two year play then they will have a max slot to retool in 22 before Ayton and Bridges need extending.
Word last night was OKC wanted 10 or Cam Johnson (sneaky nice player) so giving up a protected 22 pick when they will be making more win now moves the next two years isn't the end of the world.

I'm going to predict OKC works hard to redirect both Rubio and Oubre.

A few things:
1. We desperately need better passers on this team IMO and he's among the best in the league.
2. Allows us to play Giannis off-ball more and set him up for easier baskets.
3. He's someone that we can feel safe putting the ball in his hands that he'll make good decisions/take care of the ball.
4. He's sadly probably a better shooter than Bledsoe.
5. All of that while also being a good defender (obviously not Bledsoe level, but good nonetheless).

Paul is supposedly recruiting guys and both him and Booker are CAA guys so that agency played a part in thispaulpressey25 wrote:I like Phoenix on this one. With Paul, Rubio is redundant. And always viewed Oubre as a volume scorer guy on a bad team. The pick is protected out 4 years.

Sarver is always the **** sandwich in the suns kitchen but I have to say he basically hasn't been seen or heard of since giving James Jones the control and both Jones and Monty Williams are well liked and respected.

This, except #4 (he's not a better defender than Bledsoe)
I don't think he's going to magically come in and be THE missing piece but I like having smart players.
