He was likely already very large then grew a bunch in his last two years of hs so got an offer to play at that small college.

I think Zion is going to inevitably force a trade. First, they lose Davis, now Zion. If you’re the pelicans, you might as well move the team.

But in some ways, insanely impressive that he's good enough to make a team in that condition.

Honestly tired of this bum. He's surrounded with doctors and trainers. You could put him on a keto diet and he's lose 50lbs+ of fat in under a season. He simply doesn't care. I know because Im down 25lbs in 4-5 months of keto.

Zions played the equivalent of one rookie season. “Maybe” slow down on the move the team talk lol. It’s not the city’s fault unless you want to blame the restaurants.

Him even suiting up for a game is impressive

I could see this spinning out of control very fast ala Caleb Swanigan.

This is a huge warning sign/career red flag. Zion could comeback in great shape and have a career year like vlady guerrero who was quite fat as a blue jay and got in decent shape and became one of if not the best hitter in baseball.

Games played in first 3 seasons: Zion 85, Oden 82

Post#130 » by HypeMode » Mon Dec 13, 2021 9:40 pm

Zion has played only 3 games more than Greg Oden through their first 3 seasons. Both of them suffered from foot problems. It's not a good sign that Zion weighs 80 lbs more than Oden despite being 5 inches shorter either.

It really puts into context how big Zion really is right now considering Greg Oden was an f’n monster.

There is no reason for him to play this season.

Hard to feel bad for the Pels as a franchise since they are so poorly run, but I feel for the fans in NO. And this is going into his extension year too - no way they give it to him, right?

Didn't Oden have structural problems with his legs though? Wasn't one leg longer than the other? Not sure it's a fair comparison.

Yes, he had different leg lengths. Zions problems are almost entirely centered around his weight. If the dude lost 70lbs, he'd probably have a mostly healthy career.

Came across this on twitter and a couple of things stand out:

How Zion's able to move and how high he jumps even with this weight being carried. It's astonishing how feline yet freakishly powerful he was.

How great his passes were, and how his blocks looked almost cartoonish like he was swatting tennis balls. Just so easy.

What a shame if he doesn't get it together and the league doesn't benefit from his game:

I still have a feeling he'll bounce back, just think it'll be not in NOP. Sorry, Pels fans, I feel your angst and I hope it works out for your team.

(That whole Griffin playing the piano for Zion thing was really weird, though. What in the world?! )

Yup Duke Zion was a different athletic animal that we haven’t seen in the NBA yet. Just look at the way he moves, he doesn’t move like that anymore. He was so agile and quick back then. And that was just a small taste of what he looked like at Duke. There are legit 30+ minute highlight montages from him at Duke.

This is why I keep saying his Duke weight should be his goal weight. Just look at how the jersey fits on him, he just physically looks so different. He was the perfect combination of strength/speed/agility/explosion back then.

Speaking of Clyde is he still banned from the GB? TBH I miss his prospect talk in the GB, now I only see him in the draft forum.
