That 11 deep roster was also a complete anomaly in all aspects and probably is not something any team can replicate.

That was arguably the greatest 5-6 year stretch of a GM hitting picks and trades that while is a skill, also requires a **** ton of luck.

That's why I said, we are so far away from that 11 deep team. Even if that was rare, we are not even close, having had such a bad bench the past two years. We are just beginning to maybe building depth up to an average level of bench.

That 2017-18 team (that we used to make 'the trade') was deep but with question marks. There were only two players that averaged more than 30 minutes in the playoffs (DeMar and Kyle), and CJ Miles and Delon were the 6th and 7th men. You have to put it in that context. The Raptors right now are more top heavy. It would be Dame, Pascal, Scottie, Trent as 30+ minute players. Schroder has been close to 30 minutes/night through his entire career. And Poeltl is likely close to 30. If Boucher stays, that's a solid 7.

When did these trade proposals start to not include OG?

When people realized our team is stronger if we also keep OG lol. This thread is wild. We went from Barnes as the centrepiece, to OG as the centrepiece and now we'll use Barnes for Giannis, and now to GTJ as the centrepiece. Soon it will be just Dick as the centrepiece.

Is it even feasible to keep OG and pay him his worth? Someone please chime in with the tax implications around the core of Lillard, OG, Barnes, Siakam and Poeltl. Presumably, Barnes will get something close to the rookie max extension next summer too that will take into effect in 2 years.

No, it's not feasible. The starting lineup would be 164M (Siakam @ 50M and OG @ 35M). Add in the bench and you are deep into the tax with a Scottie extension looming.

I love OG and he's so much more impactful, but I almost feel like we need the depth and the contract control of Dick.

I agree. GTJ can be re-signed to a decent deal and even without acquiring Dame signing OG to a 30+M deal seems to not be ideal anyways.

OK, honest question, what do you think is a fair contract number for OG?

We know he's an incredible shooter (consistently close to 40% from 3 overall, took the 4th most corner 3's last season and hit them at a 45% clip), we know he's great at transition - 1.25 points per possession on big volume, he's All-Defensive Team-level on-ball defense, leads the league in steals, we also know he's terrible at iso's and is worst in the league at turning the ball over on his drives - over 10% of the time - those a big knocks for sure.

Hart just got paid 4/81 to come off the bench, what would you give OG knowing the above? Not a trap question, I think his value next offseason would easily hit 35m but I've read things all over the map so I'm not 100%

He thinks barnes makes a top 15 player jump this year and gradey dick is a future all nba player and its a ridiculous idea to not be rebuilding/retooling around these 2.
