That's majorly overrated imo because I think his realistic best case is not a core player. There are a dearth in the draft. But you can still find some. And there are more developed role players you probably might as well take.
But most of the reason for the rant is indeed Detroit specifically taking him. It's mutually bad.
I think a more logical thing to do for Detroit would have been to draft Edey, because your cupboard is practically bare. So you take a guy you can try to run the ball thru to maximize his potential. See if he is indeed Yao instead of Zubac. I don't think that's happening w/ an existing core like Memphis has. They should swap situations.
