You don’t trade a player who’s willing to put the team above his own career, someone who’s ready to sacrifice a down year just to help his team land a top-3 pick. Players who consistently put the team first over themselves are rare.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

We would have to send Naz Reid out to literally make the trade legal.

A trade that sends out Derrick White for lousy return in assets and salary relief alike?

Yeah, it's fair to say that nobody sees that coming. ;)

I actually like this one. Of course you wouldn't see nearly as much added to bridges this time because Durant is older and just has a year left

Why not just trade Tatum.
People are overreacting to the Tatum injury. There's every possibility he'll be back late next season and for the playoffs. They've always had some financial things they've had to deal with but I don't think this has pushed them into a major franchise direction change

I know nobody thinks it's any kind of idea but

CLE send Jarrett Allen

to the Bulls for

Nikola Vucevic

CLE is looking to save money, they have 3 players making TWICE what Allen does and 2 in his XL range
they take on an expiring $21M Vucevic, Mobley stays at the 4

next summer begins, Mobley shifts to the 5, they bring in a reasonably priced PF if they haven't already found one and the CLE CFO gets a gold watch for saving the organization $80M over the next 4 years so they don't have to try to trade an even higher priced player

My point is he has torn his achilles and players rarely come back the same. If the proposed plan is to trade Brown (that I responded to), I think you have to ask, will Tatum be Tatum, will be still be that much better than Brown (whatever you measure that as) and is it better to trade him and still have next season as competetive.

And what is the risk of both avenues. One is far riskier. The organization just sold. Its going to get out of the tax. It is going to have to make very tough decisions and can't just go about business as usual and there will be a major direction change either way.

I've proposed it so I don't think it's crazy at all, but the Celtics should move Brown into the Nets' cap space for pick #8 and perhaps another of the Net's first rounders. Take no players back. This leaves the rest of the Celtics roster intact. They can give Horford another year if he wants it, resign Kornet (who says he will return at a discount) and develop Scheierman and the players they select with those picks..

it has to be treadmill teams and bold GMs to pull this off. I think Ja Morant trade to Utah would be it.

Bam to the Lakers; Giannis to the Heat; Ware, Jaquez, Knecht, Reeves, and a combined 3 first round picks to the Bucks.

Wolves all-in on health and fit of Melo Ball in MN. Conley on roster just in case and to mentor.

Dillingham/#17/Future 1st to Hornets

Randle to 3rd team (assuming Hornets rather have Randle worth of value than Randle himself). DDV involved if needed (probably to same 3rd team unless Hornets want him).

I think you are wrong most likely a second, not a first.

I think the joke went over your head. The Lakers don't need to send a pick. Re read the comment.

Siakam, Mathurin, Walker, pile of 1sts for Giannis & Connaughton

Giannis decides he wants to play in Indy's system with Haliburton and sees it as his best shot for championship contention. Pacers roll out Hali/Nembhard/Nesmith/Giannis/Turner with McConnell, Sheppard, Toppin and whichever FAs they can scrounge up off the bench. Bucks try to remain decent with Siakam since they don't have their own picks, and get young recent lotto picks in Mathurin & Walker along with whatever 1sts the Pacers can send.
