One stop shopping:
Brogdon + Turner for Russell + Bolmaro + 1st

Turner | Towns | Reid
Towns | JV
JV or McDaniels | Edwards
Edwards | Beasley (6th man)
Brogdon | Beverley

.
If you are going to bail out IND you should get incentive.

Bailing out Indiana??? They're giving up the better assets in this trade, I can't imagine them accepting that trade.

They get out of a long-term contract of an oft injured 30 y/o and a player who they will have to pay too much to keep. If they can find a team to help them all the power to them, but it shouldn't be us.

Even if he doesn't re-sign I would do it. Probably can get close to this back in S&T.

Yeah at that price it's a no brainer for me.

Interesting, but a bit too much to me. Beasley, Reid, #48 and #50

I don't even like Grant and I'd do that.

There are no "talks abut." This is purely atrade made up by the writer. People need to stop passing off these types of pieces as legitimate rumors.

Who was passing it off as a legitimate rumor?

Who was passing it off as a legitimate rumor?

Saying there are "talks"

Ummm...

Maybe re-read what was written.

They said "BR talks" as in BR, said or wrote of...

It was a "talker" to add more confusion to it.

It was not framed as a real rumor.

Sorry, but I'm LMAO. We discussed this last year. Legitimate rumors as opposed to illegitimate rumors. A rumor is a rumor. They don't mean anything. Yes I know some sources report rumors that happen more often than other sources. Is our interest in Capela a rumor or a bona fide fact? I'd like us to make it happen. With Capela if we didn't have to gut the roster we are a contender IMO.

Sorry, that's not going to fly with me. This is my industry. Sportswriters foster relationships all of the time. Deals talked about don't always happen, but that doesn't mean that talks didn't happen. These reports inform us on all sorts of things, from tendencies to philosophies.

What I'm saying here isn't that we're going to trade for Capela. I'm not saying we're not interested in Grant. I'm saying there is a key difference from a writer saying "here's what I'm hearing" and "here's what they should do." I don't take the latter very seriously, unless it was informed by the former. And while the specific Grant rumor we're discussing here is technically informed by a report that Grant is "widely expected to be on the move this summer", there is nothing that specifically has linked Grant and Minnesota yet, not to mention the proposed trade package in return. This is why I give this BR "talk" far less credence than the report about Capela.

Trade 1: Danny Green, Thybulle + 23 for Beasley

Trade 2: Beverly, Bolmaro, +23 for Capela

Russell/JMac
Edwards/Nowell
Mcdaniels/Thybulle
Capela/Vanderbilt
KAT/Naz

Then at 19 I would take Chandler or Jaylen Williams to get another ball handler.

I don’t think Capela is worth that.

I am realizing that after the last 15 years, I’ve developed a bias.

Over that time, almost any trade that has us sending away a good (not star) player for lesser stuff and a future pick always made my ears perk up. We weren’t a playoff team, we couldn’t draw talent in free agency, and many of our picks didn’t work out, so I liked any chance to get worse and pick up a future asset.

This is maybe the first year that has changed. Yes, we don’t have the talent yet to be a match for the top contenders, and we have just got a new GM who’s got a good record finding talent in the draft. However, we have some star talent on the team now. We have upside youth, many of whom should develop with age and good coaching, which we finally have.

I look at it this way. You can make a trade where you improve your current team, or you can make a trade where you increase the potential value of your players. They rarely coincide, and I always gravitated towards the latter. But this is a new dawn, and while we still need to develop, we also need to progress on the court now. It’s an exciting time, and my thinking needs to catch up!

I think the biggest issue is we are still only a bubble playoff team, which unfortunately shouldn't typically be the starting point for this paradigm shift. More objectively we are maybe a year out, maybe more (worst case) depending on Towns. We still need to build around ANT and his timeline and let the rest sort itself out with a lean payroll. In any trade we first ought to hope for young talent and picks as the main store of value...so in years like next year when we have the space to add higher priced vets they can be integrated with a growing team, not one that is comprised with multiple philosophies and likely more prone to turnover.

I’d like to see them split Dlo into 2 expiring vets that can still be in our top 9 rotation for next year. This helps us keep winning. Then we draft at 19 and continue to develop all of our young guys hoping some of them can step into the holes left as the vets expire. All while keeping max space open in a year.

My point is if it's a rumor it's a rumor. If it's a fact it's a fact. Some rumors are more likely to happen than other rumors. However, there's no such thing as a fake rumor. It truly is a rumor. If we are in trade discussions with Atlanta for Capela than it isn't a rumor. If someone says I think the Wolves are talking deal for Capela with no backing it's a rumor.

So every post in this thread is a rumor? No. This thread is no different than what was being thrown against the wall in that BR piece (the Grant trade). You may call it informed speculation, but it was speculation. Not a rumor.
