#DefundLeonsis

No more ticket purchases, no buying anything licensed (bootleg gear is okay), no nothing -- even on the secondary market. Money is the only thing that will move Uncle Ted.

I'm with you. My wallet is shut until Ernie is 'promoted' to President of Snickerdoodle Production or some such honorary position.

As long as the mustache has anything to say about player/coach selection or development, Ted gets not another sheckle.

I'm with you all. Like many things, the only way to make a corporation change is to make them lose money.

WHile I agree, the reality is that the new revenue from the TV deal is going to render the economic impact of latent fan boycotts meaningless. We should pick a few select games and buy blocks of seats on secondary market and chant "fire ernie" until they make us leave.

The Raps are 2 wins away from the Finals. They haven't had any top 3 picks or big name free agent signings.

F you Leonsis.

with apologies for renewing, even if it was only at 50% of my prior commitment

here is the note I sent to guest services in response the select a seat event announcement

thanks for the information on the select a seat event. I intend to be there.

I have a question though, will there be a draft party?

Oh yeah (bangs head) <bash-head.gif>

so shouldn’t there be a Markieff Morris celebration party? That oughta generate some real excitement. /sarcasm

Note to Ted - loyalty to a proven incompetent isn’t a very good plan.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-10-27/jordan-cuban-leonsis-put-millions-on-sports-betting-s-future

Drawn in large part by the “inevitable” legalization of sports betting in the U.S., NBA owners Michael Jordan, Mark Cuban, and Ted Leonsis are investing millions of dollars into Sportradar AG, a sports data company that counts global bookmakers among its top customers.
The full investment round in the Swiss company totals $44 million and is being led by Revolution Growth, a private equity firm founded by Leonsis, who owns the NBA’s Washington Wizards and NHL’s Washington Capitals. The former AOL executive said he was attracted to Sportradar because of its deep experience in sports betting, which is legal and common in much of Europe.

So, Ted brings his big data savvy, Cuban brings his investment expertise, and Jordan brings his extensive experience as an inveterate gambler. ;-)

Jokes aside, I wonder if there's any basketball use for the data being collected.

Leonsis saw a profitible market in which countless customers addictively throw away their money on an inevitably losing endeavor. Sound familiar?

Never, he's going for that Verizon center monopoly. We are probably going to have to wait 40 years for him to kick the bucket, maybe less if he keeps stuffing Gyros in his mouth, maybe he'll choke and hit a coffee table a la George W Bush.
I'll probably still be alive in 40 years, unfortunately the majority of the posters on here won't. RIP.

Ugh. Look at this petty, passive-aggressive nonsense. :curse:

[tweet]https://twitter.com/TedLeonsis/status/748506948258127872[/tweet]

I don't blame KD for not taking a meeting. I fully blame Ted for allowing his team to be managed by incompetent people. I blame Ted for talking about innovation, but failing to put a FO together that actually gives him a competitive advantage over other teams in the league.

Leonsis has the good fortune of owning a team in a big, wealthy market with tons of perks. Seven out of the ten wealthiest Black communities in the country are in the DMV. And, DC just had eight years of hosting a Black president who loves basketball.

DC doesn't feel like a small market when Snyder hops on the private jet to woo whichever FA he wants. DC didn't feel like a small market when the Nats signed Werth. DC only feels like a small market in the league where our team is run by small-minded people.

And now that Ted and EG have completely whiffed on a two-year courtship of Kevin Durant, he resorts to subtweets? Grow up, Ted. This isn't on Durant's lack of "true devotion" to the DMV. This one is fully on you. :banghead:
