sweetcity, any chance you'd be willing to bring this proposal to the trade board?

Why does GS do this? Jefferson and Biedrins expire after this year for about $19million while Bargs will has one more year (ETO) after this which he'll decline and Fields who still is owed $15million over the next two years?

Besides, Utah owns GS' pick.

Not spending anymore money on wings. Look how much we have invested in Gay, DeRozan and Fields... If money is to be spent, it should be on Millsap.

What about...

To TOR: Boozer
To CHI: Bargnani + Dudley
To PHX: Hamilton (waived) + Gray + CHI 2013 1st RD Pick

Chicago would get Bargnani & Dudley

Toronto gets a upgrade with Boozer

PHX saves money and gets a 1st RD pick

Rose / Hinrich / Teague
Dudley / SG
Deng / Butler
Gibson / Bargnani
Noah / C

Lowry / PG
Derozan / Ross
Gay / Fields
Boozer / Amir
Val/ C

I dont see why any team should say no to that.. Great deal.. Hopefully our new GM actually looks to pull the trigger on a bargs/boozer deal.... Bargnani just sucks.. If we can get boozer and hes the best talent we can get, we HAVE to do it..

I agree, out of everything that is out there, Boozer makes us the best team we can be. I think bringing on a Boozer also makes us more attractive to a couple vets to fill out the roster. If we amnesty Kleiza then we are in a good spot, might have to go into the tax for lowry, maybe not. This starting lineup is one of the top 8 in basketball.

Lowry
DD
Gay
Boozer
JV

I like the idea of Boozer mostly because I don't think we should devote any of our precious few assets to upgrading at PF unless it's a steal of a deal.

I'd rather roll with Amir and Quincy at PF than bring in Boozer. Either add assets and bring in someone that can be a significant upgrade at the position (don't even know if that's possible without taking big steps back at other positions), or try to find some sort of younger player that we can acquire cheaply and try to develop (sort of like what we did with Amir). Bringing in overpaid vets has burned us way too many times.

If getting Boozer doesn't hamstring other moves financially and it only costs us Bargs, it's a plug your nose and do it kind of deal. I think Amir is perfectly fine as a starter at PF, but Acy isn't ready to be a 25 minute a night guy yet. We're going to need a solid 3rd big, and if we can move Amir into that spot by getting Boozer for Bargs + Gray, it costs us fewer assets than getting one any other way.

if we need a solid 3rd guy, Carl Landry is probably the guy. We just have to be ok with wings handling the scoring load ie Gay / DD

Blowup deal:

From Toronto: Rudy Gay, DeMar DeRozan, Amir Johnson, Kyle Lowry

To Toronto: Kendrick Perkins (exp), Kris Humphries (exp), Richard Hamilton (exp), Kirk Hinrich (exp), Jeremy Lamb, Marshon Brooks, Regain our 2013 1st round pick, BKN 2013 1st round pick, 2014 Dallas Mavericks first round pick (from OKC)

Hinrich/Lucas
Ross/Hamilton
Brooks/Lamb/Fields
Humphries/Acy
Valanciunas/Perkins/Gray

Tell me that roster doesn't suck beyond belief, the tank would be in full effect while the youngsters develop. In 2014 this almost guarantees at least a top-5 pick, and all of the dead weight besides Perkins and Fields expire leaving us with a ton of cap room. We also collect a few extra picks to use in the draft (BKN, DAL).

From Brooklyn: Kris Humphries, Marshon Brooks, 2013 1st Rounder
To Brooklyn: Rudy Gay

Let's face it, they're in for the long haul. So adding a Rudy Gay only helps, plus he even expires before Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace. It's utterly ridiculous how this team was put together.

From Chicago: Richard Hamilton, Kirk Hinrich
To Chicago: DeMar DeRozan

No doubt an upgrade in talent. Plus, if Nate leaves they'll need a new 6th man.

From OKC: Kendrick Perkins, Jeremy Lamb, 2013 Toronto First Rounder, 2014 Dallas First rounder
To OKC: Amir Johnson, Kyle Lowry

This was proposed by Alfred on the Trade Board, so credit to him. No doubt an upgrade for their roster.

Right, and he'd be great, but we either need to use our MLE on him or give GS something in a S&T, THEN still have Bargnani on the roster. I think that our trade options for Bargs will be very limited, so using him to solidify the frontcourt rotation and then using the MLE on a backup PG that we desperately need would maximize the utility of what we can do. If a Bargnani deal is available that provides us the help at PG, then signing Landry is a great option. I just don't see much out there.

Haha yeah. In my opinion we have to be blown up before we can move forward because let's be honest, we're not beating Miami or even New York in a 7 game series. Get a top-5 next year and move forward with a future star. Accelerate the rebuild through youth like Cleveland has done, without as much luck as them of course.

The optics of all those deals are terrible though... love it, in theory, but I don't think there's a GM alive that has a sack large enough to (intentionally) lose every deal on talent until a roster is gutted.

Would give the keys to the city to the man or woman that does this though.

BKN says no. They already have Gerald Wallace. Why would they blow their only asset just to grab another SF?

What kind of PG/C could the MLE plus whatever extra cap room we have net us? Brand + Augustine?

Lowry - Augustine
DD - Ross
Gay - Fields
Amir - Brand
JV - Bargnani

No doubt about it. It's more about selling it to the casual fan in my opinion. But in all honesty I see this as the fastest way to rebuild.

The only explanation I have for you is that small ball is the new trend. They can go Williams/Johnson/Wallace/Gay/Lopez.

Same idea, but i aim for a few more assets coming back for our core.

Derozan for ATL 2014 2nd (assuming they strike out in FA)
Lowry + TOR 2017 2nd for Utah 2013 1st(14th)
Gay for Gooden + Moute + MIL 2014 lottery protected 1st (mil fans dont do this but mil owners do)
Amir + Gray for Perkins + Tor 2013(12th) + Dal 2014 1st top 20 protected
3M cash + TOR 2015 2nd + TOR 2016 2nd for Dal 2013 1st(13th)
Nothing for Biedrens + Jefferson + GSW 2014 lottery protected 1st

Not counting the players
In
ATL 2014 2nd
Utah 2013 1st(14th)
MIL 2014 lottery protected 1st
Tor 2013(12th)
Dal 2014 1st top 20 protected
Dal 2013 1st(13th)
GSW 2014 lottery protected 1st

Out
TOR 2015 2nd
TOR 2016 2nd
TOR 2017 2nd

If we're going to blow it up, it should be for youth, picks, and bad contracts while our youth matures. Cap space has never been a good thing for this team. I'd rather acquire the Baron Davis' of the world...
