If the Rockets are crazy enough to trade Beverly we shouldn't hesitate to attach a 1st to Sessions (preferable) or Lamb to get him. It would have to be a 3 team trade though with Anderson going to the 3rd team for a big unguaranteed contract - such as Chicago with Rondo.

I would actually really like this trade. Maybe Sessions and a protected first round pick. It's probably cheaper than we could get anyone else with his talent. And he's an unrestricted free agent in 2019. Don't know if I would give up Lamb, But we might not have to. I get the feeling they are trying to make room for Chris Paul so they might not take much in return.

This is the one offseason trade that I think is both very realistic and would be a big win for us. Get on it Cho-bot.

I guess this trade could still happen even though he's now on the clippers. Maybe they would like to take on sessions expiring contract rather than having Beverly's remaining years.

If Griffin is traded in a similar deal or he leaves Beverley is too good to be on a rebuilding team, the Clippers would look to trade him eventually.

I'm not sure how much value Batum and Kaminsky have, but I'd package them in a deal with a protected first to get K Love. Cleveland is only getting rid of him in a deal for a star like Paul George so we'd have to be like a third team but a fourth team would be needed to take our assets.

Here's my first idea:

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ycy8bhsz

Kemba/Mudiay
Monk/Shump
MKG/?
Love/Marvin
Howard/Zeller

Indy gets two firsts, one from Charlotte and one from Denver (top 12 protected in 2018, top 8 protected in 2019 and if they haven't conveyed at that point then two second rounders)

Of course I have no idea if even one of the teams in the deal would do this outside of Cleveland of course, but I don't think it's the worst idea.

Here's the second:

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7jk2osr

Kemba/Exum
Monk/Lamb
MKG/?
Love/Marvin
Howard/Zeller

This one seems a little less crazy and more likely, depending on how much the Jazz like Batum. Utah and Charlotte would give up picks with the same protections as the last deal.

I actually like the return from the teams we send guys to better than what we get in these trades. I would rather accept Mudiay, Wilson and Faried and not offer up picks than take on Shump and Love. Same for the second trade. I would rather take back Burks, Exum and this pick than give up a pick to get Love.

I don't think our rotation can take that sort of hit. And if you're starting Monk and hoping to make the playoffs, you're gonna have a bad time.

I actually like our team as currently constructed (assuming we get a decent backup PG in free agency). Yeah we aren't title contenders, but I think we can win a series.

If Blake says, hey I am leaving too, would the Clippers accept a sign and trade deal like this? It is the same situation as the CP3 trade, get what you can instead of him signing somewhere else and you get nothing.

Hornets get: Blake and Beverly

Clippers get: MKG, Marvin, Sessions, and 1st

If we can confirm that Lowry to Minnesota is happening maybe we can pull this off:

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6895706

We send Sessions, Lamb, and our lottery protected 2018 1st
We get Rubio

MIN sends Rubio
MIN gets Hobe (only $1m guaranteed) and our 2018 1st

PHI sends Hobe
PHI gets Lamb and Sessions

Kevin Love = good player, fraud star. In 3 seasons with Cleveland his impact without Lebron is eerily similar to his empty-calories stats with Minnesota:

Love w/o Lebron: -2.4
Love w/o Lebron/Kyrie: -3.5

Lebron w/o Love: +6.6
Lebron/Kyrie w/o Love: +7.2

^^^ Why Cleveland couldn't move Love for a top 10 pick and why the merits of a straight Batum for Love swap is debatable.

Did I miss a report on Lowry to MIN? Didn't know that was a thing.

Trading for Rubio and using the MLE on a wing seems pretty much ideal at this point, but id also be fine with using the MLE on a PG and keeping all our assets. I dont see Lamb in the rotation as something that desperately needs fixed. An upgrade would be nice, but hes not a scrub or anything. If he could hit a 3 point shot (the one thing everyone expected him to do well at) then hed actually be a damn fine 3rd/4th wing.

I love Beverly, but i imagine if the Clippers are keeping Blake and DJ and not rebuilding that Bev seems like an ideal fit at PG for them.

I just am not as enamored with Rubio as many of you are. Seems we would give up a lot in some of these suggested trades for a guy they seem to want to get dealt somewhere. I am all about trading MKG and assets to get a quality player. Doubt Griffin is worth any deal we'd have to give up but he's trying to engineer his own destination anyway. Wish Charlotte was a place people sought to come to but it's not.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

If Minny is getting Lowry then we could probably pick up Sessions option and send he and Lamb along with a crappy pick to a team that doesn't want Rubio, but has dead salary to send Minnesota.

Agreed, Henderson's 9 million unguaranteed contract works.

Hornets are not picking up Ramon's option so he can't be traded.
