Instant pass. He is a nauseating to watch, and is also one of the greatest scorers ever, doing it in a very unpleasant way.

I'd rather try building and developing a winner.
Lol that's funny. He might not have won a ring but he's led his team to 2 WCF's, a 65 win season, multiple 50 win seasons. Is he Bron or Steph or Kawhi? No but he's a winner. And the West is hard. He lost to 2 championship Warriors teams. It's like saying Barkley or Malone weren't winners. Lot's of great players don't have a ring.
We'd be extremely lucky to have the success of Harden's Rockets teams.

Pass. We'd have better chance at winning the title with this group and still having Boylen as coach

This would be a perfect deal if Chandler Hutchison and Patrick Williams can prove they're capable of holding down the small forward position.
Or it’s part of the tank.
A minor deal (Young/OPJ) at the deadline for additional draft capital is an ‘AK move’.
Bulls should be patient and develop the talent that they have. They just won the lottery and have a ton of cap next offseason. The new lottery rules don’t make ‘tanking’ nearly as attractive as years past.
LeBron, Harden, Westbrook, Durant, CP3, Leonard, Curry, & Butler are all in their 30’s. Father Time will start to take its toll in the next couple years.

LaVine, Otto Porter’s expiring, Hutchinson, Kornett, for Jrue equivalent picks/swaps for Harden + House + Tucker (disgruntled, apparently).
New depth chart:
1: White, Sato, Archi
2: Harden, (White), Valentine
3: House, P.Williams, (Sato/Val)
4: Lauri, Thad, Tucker
5: WCJ, Gafford, Vonleh
That lets Harden ball dominate like he wants, but is pretty nice fitting around him.

I want to dismiss this, but looking at that depth chart has me at least considering it (though I’m not willing to include so many draft picks). That roster likely would be a contender in the East.

Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
The likelihood this team signs or drafts a player as good as Harden is low. Harden is a legit superstar and is one of the top 5 shooting guards ever.
If you can get him, you go for it. Though Houston may have more interest in Coby than LaVine due to term. (Houston would be rebuilding anyway)
White, Gafford, OPJ, Felicio, picks for Harden, House.
You pull the ****ing trigger on that if Houston okays that deal.
Harden, Tomas
LaVine, Valentine
House, PW
Lauri, Young
Carter, Vonleh/Kornet.

That's the thing, right?
I mean, Harden isn't young, and generally plays a hard to watch brand of basketball.
BUT... opportunities to "buy low" on a top ten NBA talent - and one that doesn't really that much on his athleticism (meaning not as steep a decline) - those don't come around that often.
Then you have roster fit - whatever you call him, like Lebron, Harden plays "point guard." His last four seasons he's averaged 11.2, 8.8, 7.5 and 7.5 assists per game - the last two because he was "sharing" with CP3 and Westbrook. This Bulls' team is completely lacking a guy who actually plays point guard - even if it is primarily to hoist up his own shot. More than that, the roster actually would *fit* around Harden. Especially if you insisted on including House, which you could probably do if you took Tucker off their hands, as well, and sent back Hutchinson (and/or Gafford - though I'd try to avoid that).
White is a 3 point shooting combo guard whose almost a perfect fit next to Harden. You're bringing in House for another 3&D guy. Lauri's game fits just like Ryan Anderson's did. He, WCJ and Gafford would benefit from lobs and all the attention that Harden brings. You flip Thad somewhere so that Tucker gets PT and to try to recoup an asset. And you hope that Pat Williams becomes something. Even Val, Sato, Archi work, due to their shooting.
Yes, I understand the hate. But hey, "let the hate flow through you, and turn to the daarrk siiidde."

AD is resigning. What difference maker free agents will be available next year? Giannis? If none, a trade for a large salary dump star should be investigated.

No it should not be investigated this season... no one knows the potential of White, Lavine, Lauri, Carter, Valentine, Gafford due to mismanagement and Williams being a rookie. That’s 7 guys under 26 that has never been coached while with the Bulls. Lavine has one good coach and was developing nicely under Thibs. Let’s give Billy and Cheeks a season and see what these guys become....I say 35 wins in a 72 game season shows movement in the right direction if White is a 16 and 7,
Lauri is 20/8and Zach is between 22 and 25 a game, carter 15/10 with 2 blocks is the foundation that you build around for the next 4 years

OT: Christian Wood signs for 3 years, $41 million
Wood is a young borderline all-star, and he's going to BALL OUT next year to solidify his all-star status. Houston inked him to a $13-14 million per year for three years deal, which is an absolute steal. Wood's PER last year: 23.2! In only 21 minutes per game, Wood was a freakish force on both ends of the floor, posting 13.1 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 0.9 bpg, and 0.5 spg. Did I mention that he hits threes at a 38.6 % clip and takes 2.3 threes per game? He's a beast in the paint, which is why his overall FG percentage is at 56.7 %. And now Houston's signed Boogie Cousins to give Harden a team with a couple of decent bigs and more firepower for a change. If Wall is fully recovered next year, Houston's as valid a contender as any team not named the Lakers.
EDIT: To make this a bit more Bulls relevant, I'd like to poll our board members on the idea of our team shipping out Young + Sato for Wood. A bigman rotation of Wood, Lauri and Wendell, in which each player gets 32 minutes per game, would be incredibly powerful. For a team starved of star power, and frequently injured bigs, as the Mandalorian would say, this is the way!

My point is...Cap space next year for who? Will Wall ever be healthy? Would Houston just dump him? They already got a 1st for taking him.

He signed a 3/41 in a sign and trade. Not 3/27.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Seriously doubt Harden has any interest in being here though

Man oh man, I know I'm out of it when guys I've never even heard of are getting that kind of money and referred to as borderline all stars. I guess the NBA passed me by....

He played well for 20 games. He did not win many. He has been in the league 5 years. He is not close to being an all star.

Good contract for Wood. You don't need to be a star to make this kind of money. The mid-level exception, which was a tool to round out a roster with a bench player, is $39M over 4 years. Wood is a good 3P shooter, good shotblocker, mobile for a 6' 10", and under 25.
