"Maverick Carter, CEO of LRMR Marketing, said today that LeBron James will formally announce where he will play next season and beyond on "The Decision," which will air live on Thursday, July 8, at 9 pm ET on ESPN.

Due to the unprecedented attention and interest surrounding LeBron's decision, we have decided to make this announcement on national television. By doing so we have generated funds that will be given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. LeBron has a longstanding commitment to giving back to the community, and has worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs in cities across the country."

Yeah, Lebron just keeps giving you reasons not to like him. It would be so great if he never won a title or only did so as a tag along late in his career where he was basically a nonfactor.

With the very real possibility of the Cavs starting next season with Antawn Jamison as their best player and leader, I just have a sneaking feeling this is going to be a really fun year in the NBA for Wiz fans. :-)

Mission accomplished, EG finally defeated the Cavs, this time very likely for a long long time. All hail to the Trojan One, Jamison finally sealed the deal.

This morning I was thoroughly convinced that LeBon was going to stay with the Cavaliers. Miami's out, can't see him playing in MJ's shadow in Chicago, and I never saw LAC or NJ as realistic chances.

But then it comes out that he'll be in Connecticut for the announcement. No big deal, just means he'll be at the ESPN studios, right?

Uh, no. Boy's & Girls Club in Greenwich? Really? Not the B&G Club in Akron? If it means anything, I'd say it looks very bad for the Cavs and good for the Knicks.

And if he does go to the Knicks - woo hoo! Par-ty! LeBron is neutralized! No way they win a title this first year, with everyone getting acquainted to each other & the system, plus a lot of holes on the roster. Maybe they add someone next year - and what's better, it could be Melo! Awesome! 3 guys, all Forwards. That's the big plan, huh? No Center, no PG, no 3-point shooting. Yeah, that'll work. And no offense to D'Antoni, but is he really a championship coach? Do we see yet another coaching change in LeBron's future?

Then another year of adjustments (to Melo) and another lost opportunity. By Year 3, will Amare even hold up any more? Can the Knicks fill in the rest of the roster?

I never like to get too far ahead of things, but that would be an awesome scenario if it happened.

Yep, one hour its Cleveland, then Miami, now New York. The last 10 hours have been crazy.

If he goes to NY, the roster looks like this:

PF Danilo Gallinari
SF LeBron James / Wilson Chandler / Landry Fields (r)
CE Amar'e Stoudemire / Eddy Curry
SG ? / Bill Walker / Andy Rautins (r)
PG ? / Toney Douglas

My guess is they go small with Gallinari as stretch 4. They'll need backcourt help badly.

I assume with Durant & likely Carmelo signing extensions, they'll look to use the Eddy Curry trade chip sooner than later. They'd have alot of needs. At least two shooters. two low post bangers/defenders/rebounders. Yep, LeBron would effectively be neutralized for the next few years.

LeBron going to NY or even staying in Cleveland is far more ideal to me than Miami. If it's Miami, you can pretty much pencil Miami in the finals for the next half decade.

And even w/o LeBron, Miami is a legit contender right now.

Dat, concerning Lebron to Miami, how on earth is that team supposed to fill out their roster?

They'd have one guy left on a one year deal in Chalmers and that's about it.

Center, shooting, guard, backups?

Sure, I can see them being able to get somebody like Mike Miller on a 5 year MLE, but do you really expect veterans to start flocking to that team to sign minimum contracts?

The team I'd be much more concerned with are the Bulls. They have a ton of money to round out their roster and can effectively sign all of the guys the Knicks, and Heat target for MLE and veteran minimum deals while already having a strong, young roster in place.

If true, this would mean NY, NJ and Chi would come out as losers in the FA derby as measured by success and titles. Cle too. Man, how would this board feel about that group of teams who weren't fully successful?

Without some change to the Knick roster, why not play LeBron @ PG?

PG-James/Douglas
SG-Walker/Rautins
SF-Gallinari/Chandler
PF-Stoudemire/FA?
C-Shaq?/Curry

If you could hypnotize Amare into being a decent rebounder, you could run a very D'antoni style small-ball team:

PG-James
SG-Walker
SF-Chandler
PF-Gallinari
C-Stoudemire

That would be really fun to watch. It would also give up about 150 points a game. Sounds win-win to me!

You think ESPN will do a ticker graphic with a clock counting it down.

Owwwww. 23:30 to go.

So will you be tuning in ? I really have no interest except maybe just to watch the train crash.

More interested in how are they going to pull this off and how stupid he is going to look. Kind of like watching him explain the crab dribble.

Shame so much talent is wrapped in such a douche. But this wouldn't be the first time that has happen.

 I'll be buying EG a drink if Lebron ends up in NY or Cleveland. Either way I think he's neutralized for a few years. In Cleveland I don't know how they could get him much help and I don't know how his teamates recover from him quitting on them, in NY everyone else has covered that scenario. Again, EG isn't perfect but the AJ move definitely effed up Lebron for years to come.

Wow, Wiretap is saying Le Bon Bon to the HEAT? Zoinks, that would be the worst possible news.

Egos and a hard cap would be about the only tonic there.

I'm actually really hoping he does go to the Heat. It will take that team years to build enough depth via the MLE, they will always be extra vulnerable to injuries, Bosh is overrated as a talent and Lebron is overrated as a competitor.

If they all sign for five years, I think they will win one championship in that time. Wade + Bosh to the Bulls would have been much, MUCH scarier.
