Toronto trades: Rudy Gay, Kyle Lowry, Amir Johnson. NYK 2016 first round pick, (Steve Novak)
Charlotte trades: Ben Gordon, Michael-Kidd Gilchrist, Ramon Session, Detroit 1st round pick, Portland 1st round pick
So this is obviously a tanking deal for us. We cash in on almost all our assets for picks and prospects and tank the year away. Seeing Wiggins is the prize of the draft and wants to play for us, we put ourselves in a place to draft him. Gordon and Sessions are obviously just one year fillers. I'm not high on Gilchrist but I guess he'd be an ok asset to add to the fold. The picks are top 8 and top 12 protected respectively so while they are valuable, I think some may be over exaggerating their value.
Starting lineup: Augustin, DeRozan, Novak, ?, Val
Bench: Sessions, Gordon, Fields, Acy, Gray
We could look into turning some of our players into a PF for the short term like Scola or something.
Charlotte Bobcats are looking to win now. They've been to the draft a few times and have come up with Walker, Biyombo, Gilchrist and now Zeller and it hasn't been working for them, They signed Al Jefferson to a 3 year deal which means they're looking to win now but have a very poor supporting cast. In this deal they'll get a starting PG, a top 5-7 SF, a supersub type big man and a future first from NYK. They'd be giving away 2 first round picks, 2 expiring contracts and MKG. They pay the price for talent to put around their main piece and guarantee themselves a playoff spot.
Starting lineup: Lowry, Henderson, Gay, Amir, Jefferson
Bench: Walker, Taylor, ?, Zeller, Haywood
They'd also have the MLE to make other small moves.
