Gotta trade Jimmy Butler if he has to miss any games with this rolled ankle. Pretty selfish of him to get injured at such a critical point in their season.

I mean, it's an insane thought process that we should get rid of Embiid because he has bad luck with unrelated injuries. Tearing a ligament in your finger, torn meniscus, orbital fracture... I mean, you could make the argument he's more brittle than other athletes I guess... or you can realize that his entire game is creating offense, mainly through contact, and that generally exposes you to more injuries. We've seen it throughout this playoff with guys who generate fouls: you're gonna drive in the lane and run into guys. You have a better chance of rolling your ankle, tweaking a knee, hurting your hand/arm, etc if that happens.

Meh. The answer is somewhat in the middle. He certainly has had bad luck. I’d never blame something like the Siakam or Fultz elbow, which was just ridiculous, on him.
But he certainly puts himself in these situations. He plays reckless and emotionally at times. He goes for a lot of blocks or dunks that can end poorly at times when he doesn’t have to. He has worse conditioning than most people in the league which puts him more at risk - including against the Nets where he was falling all over the court in a game where pretty much all that mattered was not getting injured. He (or other people in the organization that are at fault) plays in games that are counterproductive to maximizing postseason success because he gets rundown or injured.
You can say “that’s his style of play and that’s why he’s so good” but at the end of the day a 7 foot injury history guy can’t think he can play the same as Westbrook and needs to be smart, and he just hasn’t been.
He then goes on to make up excuses or complain about his injuries after the series is over, which is just a poor reflection on him as a leader, even if whatever he is saying is true.
Embiid is my up there with Iverson for my favorite Sixer ever, but I’m not gonna sit here and make excuses for everything he does.
And yes. The him being more brittle or injury prone I think is clearly a reality unfortunately that you can’t just dismiss.

Dude please, trying to get rid of him doesn't mean we are blaming him, we are not. Some of us appreciate what he has done for us, but just want to move on now that he is at his peak, we could fetch a good return and rebuild again, process was about not being perennial treadmill team and we are that now because of Embiid getting injured in R1 every year, it's not his fault but he just can't stay healthy. We would need a superteam if we wanted to win with Embiid getting injured in R1 every year, and that just rarely happens.

Are you ever going to grow up and stop being a troll account that takes positions just believable enough that you can’t get banned even though it is obvious from your ridiculous flip flopping over the years that you are a troll account? Or is this just going to be something you do for the rest of your life?

Too many times that he gets injured in R1, of course at some point you "flip flop" based on the outcome of his injuries. I just don't see how we can win when every year the same thing happens over and over.
I would at least entertain him being traded, but of course rejecting all lowball offers, it's not imperative to trade him, just could be beneficial depending on the offers we get, sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

He'll certainly keep doing it as long as people keep responding to him.

Look forward to him playing game 2 and winning so this conversation ends despite nothing changing about his injury history or his propensity to getting injured around playoff time. This discussion is definitely not a knee jerk, emotionally charged one.

he reportedly has a ~3-4 week injury at a minimum that we are two weeks into healing. game 2 will barely be any more rest. if he plays he will be limited. your blind optimism seems a bit out of place.

There are conflicting reports about whether it's a Grade 1 (1-2 weeks) or Grade 2 (2-4 weeks) strain.
If it's Grade 1 then he could be back by Game 2.

I don’t think there is a “switch” that flips on for when he can play. If he’s capable of playing tonight, but he’s still feeling a little hobbled and doesn’t feel like it’s safe yet, then he could be good by game 2. There’s nuance to injuries. Your black and white interpretation on his health is also misguided.

I do think he needs to get over the protective gear thing. Knee braces, ankle braces, face mask. Have him play in a full suit of armor. His worst ability is availability.
But trading him away - that's crazy talk.

Re: Joel: unchained.
I'm so sick of the speculation. I can't wait for this thing to start just to stop the "will he or won't he" talk.
I just don't want him playing if he's going to be compromised to the point of not being a positive force. I'd rather wait until game three and get him back where he isn't limited, even if it means being in a 0-2 hole.
For the record, I believe we can and will win a game in Boston without him. This needs to be where Maxey takes that next step towards being the legit "3rd star" that would put us over the top.

If he shares the same blood type as Bryce Harper can we get a blood transfusion from Harper to Embiid?

Even entertaining the idea of trading a franchise player off of an MVP season is so far beyond foolish that only the worst kind of troll seeking attention would raise it as a subject for discussion.
