Honestly, I'm torn on this. On one hand, the way he left was so horrible, but on the other hand, he gave us a good 8 years where we were a top team for 4 of those years. He helped us get our first ever NBA Finals victory and helped us have the best seasons in Magic history (2008-09 and 2009-10).

Great 8 years, but the way he left completely destroyed his image. Had he left a normal way, and been open to helping out the team that gave him a chance to become one of the best centers of all time, I'd maybe think differently.

Cleveland won't be retiring LeBron's jersey, why should be retire someone's who fuc#@*#* us over worse than Shaq?

Yea it's wrong and will never happen, but hey good thought

+1

I like that one. But, maybe instead of saying just joking, everyone farts or having very loud farting sounds across the arena's speakers before burning the jersey in effigy.

Then, have those kids that Dwight skipped out on from the Orlando Camp jump up and down on the jersey. Maybe, one or two could take a dump on it too before setting a fire.

Currently watching: Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers - March 7, 2012
Nikola Vucevic: 14 points 12 boards 1 block on 7-15 shooting in 30 minutes off of the bench

By all indications (based on 2 games), Flying V steps up big vs. the Celtics.

Shaq kept his house here and always had good things to say about Orlando. Dwight ran away and hid in LA for 3 months demanding a trade now.

I hope he never gets his jersey retired. He still hasn't done enough yet to be a hall of famer, but he will eventually.

Shaq didnt always have good things to say about the Magic.

I don't think we'll retire his jersey. Providing he's healthy he's got another 10 years in the NBA if he wants. By the time he retires people will remember his time in Orlando as his younger days filled with excitement and flair that ended poorly. Still to see what people will take from his prime and declining years.

Dwight will have his jersey retired by a team that he wins championships with. You don't retire a player's jersey if they never won you a championship, but they then went and won a few somewhere else.

I know we didn't win a ring but I still think Nick's jersey should be up there.

Anyone with ESPN Insider want to paraphrase what's being said in this new article?

If there's such a thing as an NBA hipster, there's a good chance you might hear that person utter the following words next season:

"I knew Gustavo Ayon before he became mainstream, bro."

Heading into last season, the Orlando Magic big man was as close to an unknown commodity as they come. He was so far off the radar that he wasn't included in our #NBArank player pool for 2011-12.

Being an unknown is hard to do in the digital era where scouting video, advanced statistics and social media have sharpened our antennae for talent like never before, but Ayon managed to slip between the cracks.

Now, everyone can see that Dwight, the Nba, Adidas and the Lakers already had a marketing strategy and products in place to showcase Dwight way before this trade transpired. They just had to play out the scenarios to create controversy.

It hasn't even been two weeks yet, and Dwight is out there in his Lakers Adidas shoes.

Why are you spreading your conspiracy theories in multiple threads?

Why couldn't Adidas have been working on a D12 shoe, and just put in yellow instead of blue? Why does this have to be part of some evil master plan by 4 different entities?

I would gladly be ugly and get paid like Dwight! Dude just hit the lottery by going to the Lakers. Dude probably just earned an extra couple hundred million. That is reason enough to force your way to the Lakers.
