I think Phil is steering clear from some of the Knicks old business practices and has an obvious direction with where this team is going forward. A move for Rose is just repeating all the mistakes of our past.

2 guys that Phil will be targeting that Cap Space will be 2 players of interest for you guys...guys like Nicolas Batum and Harrison Barnes are the types of players we're looking at. Obviously, the Durant's, COnley's and Horford's of FA are getting the major looks...but Phil isn't going all-in on Derrick Rose when there are plenty of other options and our young guns like Langston Galloway and Jerian Grant have looked very good so far this season.

Interesting. My best friend is a Knicks fan and he insists the Bulls won't let Rose go. He seems like a triangle player. As for your interest in Batum, that is interesting. You like Barnes but how about MKG from that draft class? Can we interest you in him or do you prefer Barnes for some reason? Fans on this board prefer MKG to Bradley Beal. Yeah.

I'm sure the Bulls would cut ties with Rose in the right deal, I just don't see the Knicks reverting back to their old ways. A team like Brooklyn or Sacramento on the other hand, I could see that happening.

I like MKG, he's just not putting us over the top right now. I'd rather let Porzingis use the season to get comfortable, decide if we're ready to move ahead with Melo in the offseason, keep our assets, and net another core contributor with our Cap Space. NEXT season, we should be in business on making a run at cashing in a few assets...or at least that's what we're hoping.

When MKG is back at full health would the Hornets even consider this deal given how bad the Nick Young contract is?

If the Knicks were to send Jose Calderon to the Lakers for Nick Young then offer Charlotte the following deal:

Charlotte gets:
Langston Galloway
Nick Young
Kevin Seraphin
2017 Houston Rockets Second Round Draft Pick
2019 Houston Rockets Second Round Draft Pick

New York gets:
Nicolas Batum
Brian Roberts

Galloway and MKG would give Charlotte superior perimeter defense and Nick Young if utilized correctly could supply a scoring punch off the bench, but it is a horrid contract so while I think Charlotte would decline, I was just curious.
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

I would trade Batum for Gordon Hayward :) Figure out a way to get Hayward and I'm down.

I would absolutely trade Batum for Hayward. Utah wouldn't though.

Would love to win the lottery next summer if we miss the playoffs and trade the #1 pick for Demarcus Cousins. I wonder if the Kings are 5-45 by the all-star break if they would entertain a Cousins for 2 first round picks, 2016 and 2018, top 3 protected plus a pick swap in 2017, and Al Jefferson expiring contract.

May not take too long if the reports of Cousins screaming at Karl are true. Problem is nobody here will take on that challenge. The debacle of Lance is too fresh. I would gladly make that deal however, and try to find a way to trade Kemba as well. Some team must have gobs of money and a shaky PG situation (also a bit desperate). The Kemba massive payout was a waste. He is no better now than before, and is bumping his ceiling, which is low for a starting 1 in this league.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

That would be amazing. I was just about to post pretty much the same trade. The sad thing is that if Cousins does end up getting traded it will probably be to Boston for those Brooklyn picks they tried to trade us...

I probably wouldn't trade for Cousins anymore, he is just too crazy.

We'd have to add in a first round pick or two as sweetener.

The interesting thing is that Jefferson is a pretty useful contract in making a Cousins trade work. Hope we make it known that we will work with teams.

Al Jeff for Zaza and Felton

Al could play in a Sac/Cousins deal. the problem is most of the teams that would be trying for a Cousins deal already have an expensive expiring bigman. Boston has Lee and LAL have Hibbert for example.

You need to let the Horford pipe dream die. They aren't trading him and he isn't signing here.

If you could dump Brian Roberts, would you add Marvin Williams as incentive even if all you got in return is a TPE for that outgoing package?

You bet I would. We would gain like $9M in essentially cap space, good for facilitating trades where we can pick up a good player or an asset attached to some salary... or here's an underrated one- we could actually use the excess cap space to re-negotiate and extend Batum to a big contract before he hits free agency- like Denver did with Wilson Chandler and Gallo.

Marvin has been good to start the season, but if we're relying on him to put up double-doubles, block multiple shots most games, and shoot 41% deep all season long, we're setting ourselves up for failure. I would dump his contract for that extra flexibility if I was given the opportunity. PJ Hairston can go with him.

Roberts, Marvin, PJ gone in the same trade. Don't tease me like that. :P
