Sometimes I think about game 3 against the Raptors when we blew them out and Embiid was doing airplanes at Wells Fargo and wonder if that was the peak of our process. Sad thoughts.

Right now - pretty much yes. But we have 24 year old all-nba guy to trade for another superstar and really contend.

If Nesmith falls in the draft because of concerns he won’t be ready to start the year, now you can grab the talent and paper over till he fully recovers with Green, just one of many benefits.

The Horford deal was dirty work that needed to be done, you have to pay a price to launder that kind of cash into expirings and a TPE.

Exactly how. Biids ceiling is way higher than lillard and Ben is already like 2-3 times better than Cj has ever been

In one move, Morey/Brand got rid of a bad on the court fit, freed up cap flexibility, brought in a better prospect than Zhaire, brought in a better bench wing than Korkmaz, and barely lost any significant asset in the process.

And...he now has the flexibility to use Green and picks as part of a Hield trade. Or Richardson too for Hield or LaVine.

He maintained extreme discipline and flexibility and didn't give a single young prospect or lose any depth while dumping an awful contract and only REALLY losing the 34th pick. By 2025, his contract is up and the Sixers win-now window is closed anyhow.

So turn Green and/or the $8M he just created into a starting PG/SG, and we are right back in it.

CJ and Dame are great on offense, but until they can defend anyone they are stuck, it’s why they grabbed Covington, he is a big piece for them.

Dame dragged a bunch of corpses into the playoffs by himself.

Not saying Dame isn’t awesome, but two tiny guards who score is it’s own kind of fit problem. CJ not being moved for a better complement to Dame has always baffled me.

This person isn't worth quoting. It doesn't "open up" any space at all. And if this part of some grand plan to get Lavine (who I would hate at the cost of Richardson and 1sts), it likely needs to be part of this trade since we can't aggregate until the preseason.

I hate giving up any first round picks, but it is the price for that level of savings. I just hope it’s not a top 10 pick when the time comes.

Obviously it doesn't open up cap space but it makes us way more flexible.

I've seen a handful of people say today that the Sixers trading Simmons for Harden would be "breaking them up."

I mean literally speaking, but the way it's being framed you'd think the Sixers gave up on the tandem and just pawned Simmons off for 10 cents on the dollar.

I don't think it's fair to call a trade for Harden "breaking up Embiid and Simmons." It's replacing one duo with a superior one. Yes, with some long-term risks of course, but regardless.
