Btw i think we’re seeing peak or near peak basketball of this era. A lot of teams have adjusted to how the game wants it to be played. I remember a time when it was just too frustrating watching games with how the fouls are called.

Teams now are more adept in switching and attacking on ISO (step back contest)

Malik Monk leads the Kings in assist rate and ranks 18th in the NBA in that metric at 31.1%. No player in the NBA this season is averaging more APG than Monk’s 4.4 in fewer MPG than Monk’s 21.6.

Suns trying to revive a Crowder trade really like to get it done.

Crowder for Korkmaz and Niang works in TM.

Still not sure what we'd do with Crowder. We already have a generic tough guy big wing in Tucker. Who's a more consistent shooter than Crowder.

Crowder's main beef with the Suns is a diminishing role as they wanted to transition to Cam Johnson as the starter at PF. Can't see him being happy here as a rotation F.

I like Marcus Morris better than Crowder if we're trading for a vet tough guy to start over Tucker.

The team I’m interested in is Charlotte. That team stinks and might be due for a shakeup.

Hayward
Oubre
Jalen McDaniels
PJ Washington
Cody Martin

All players that would fill a gap on our roster.

I’d rather have Biyombo. Have you guys seen him play when Ayton was out? He was legit that i’d say he’s one of the reason why Suns are open in losing Ayton.

Biyombo is a solid screener, roll man, shot blocker and he’s also mobile enough to step out.

Crowder replaces Harris. If Harris isn't going out, then there's no point to trade for Crowder.

Sounds like a perfect guy for Glenn to bury at the back of the bench. Go get him!

The reality of trying to keep a dynasty going as the individual parts are breaking down. The Warriors don't want to make the hard choices they need to make to transition this team to the young talent waiting in the wings.

They asked Kerr about replacing Thompson with Poole. Poole is shooting even worse to begin the season (30% from three).

Warriors starting lineup has a +26 net rating in 123 minutes together. Problem is that basically every other lineup they’ve tried sucks because their bench is struggling so hard.

Didn't know that, sorry. Looks like the 'dynasty' part is holding up its end more so than the youth waiting in the wings.

I think the Green/Poole incident and the way the organization reacted to it set the franchise back a bit. Everyone acted like a clown and it carried over into the start of the season.

Peak basketball will be true 5 out offense with every player in the 5 positions highly specific and ultra skilled.

Something like 2 prime Iggy’s (both wings that can do everything that don’t need the ball to impact the game) or Marion, two way superstar (wing, big guard take your pick or basically a 4 by Dirk (whose much more effective than KD) and a do it all Center ala Duncan, and a big defensive lead guard that can push the pace something like Kidd but bigger. All capable of scoring 15 plus points but don’t need to and can chop and change on usage/options so there’s zero overlap and diminishing returns and none of them are defensive liabilities in fact all bringing positive defensive value especially rebounding wise.

Then the bench will be metric darlings that find themselves on a lot of winning teams, your Danny Greens, Diaws, Horry’s etc. You can play small, tall, mix the offense through passing bigs, play space and pace or choke down switch heavy defence.

The game hasn’t changed my man on winning chips the ultimate goal. Structure wise anyway. It’s just gotten more skilled but only in some years.

any iteration of Spurs wins , any iteration of GSW wins (all time wing depth best ever not close Iggy, Klay, Green, KD) is ideal. Curry is great but if you have that kind of backing/protection your team is basically nigh unbeatable.

He'd be an upgrade over Tucker and Tucker would be an upgrade over Niang.

That is my thought process at least

Crowder is the same with tucker.

They are bangers/positional defenders who need deflectors like Mikal Bridges or Giannis.

You need defenders who can send help defense once the opponent put Embiid in a cat and mouse situation (2v1 at the paint).

Crowder is not a great rebounder
Crowder does not provide deflections
Crowder is not gonna solve our problem at transition

We need someone fast and quick. Thats why Thybulle worked so well for us last year, except for rebounding.

If we’re locked in, our starters can stay in front of our man. But the problem is we don’t have anyone who can send help defense, crash the board or generate deflection.

You wanted this guy over Tobi

D'Angelo Russell has talked about being in a shooting slump. He's now shooting 30.7% (23/75) this season through 12.5 games

But it's also a slump that goes back to last season, where Russell shot 29.1% (32/110) the final 20 games of last season

So 29.7% over the last 32.5 games

We need a bucket getter or two

Tobias and Thybulle for DeRozan and White.

Perfect basketball right here. In Football terms it’s modern Barcelona, GSW might have been more entertaining but it’s screen heavy play was kind of a turn off for me as a lot of was illegal ah well enjoy.

Ideally yes but wings don't grow on trees.

For me at this point the move and fit doesn't have to be perfect it just has to make us better. Crowder to me is a massive upgrade over Niang and Tucker is an upgrade over Niang. Tucker shouldn't be playing 30 minutes at this point at age 37.

Also I would kind of pushback that this team has toughness. Niang has done a better job at least competing on both ends but you won't find a softer big in the league. You can't just offset one with the other and say well we have Tucker so we don't need Crowder we are still playing Niang 20MPG they don't cancel each other out.

Crowder may not be a great rebounder but he is a good rebounder. He may not provide a tremendous amount of deflections but he averaged 1.4 Steals a game last year which is good. He actually moves well in transition I don't know what the point of that was. Niang is slow man. He is the definition of unathletic. For me at this point is does this move improve the roster and it does Crowder is everything Doc wants Niang to be but isn't which is mainly a PF/SF type. It actually allows us additional versatility because we now have two guys who can play some PF/SF with him and Tucker. For me it's a no brainer we do lose a bit of 3PT shooting but Niang is extremely streaky when his shot isn't falling he is useless
