Garbage time. Good time to let Tatum and Haliburton enter and see if they can find their game going forward. No reason for KD or LBJ or Curry to be out there at this point

Nothing awful about it. Its about winning and if youre not about winning, then the team shouldnt want you. Tatum is not Lebron and Hali is not Steph. Both of those guys are replaceable, even in future olympics/FIBA comps
Good luck to Team USA if you aren’t going to use Tatum in future Olympics, lol. And then our fans complain about lack of continuity. It is disrespect.
Again tho, why? Tatum isnt irreplaceable like a Lebron/KD. He's a strong star, but he's not someone you bend over backwards for. 4 years from now, youre gonna be able to get guys like Paolo/Barnes/Flagg/Zion/Mobley in their primes. If Tatum isnt gonna give you the best chance to win today and its gonna effect his commitment moving forward, then he was never a guy you wanted. This is about the team first and foremost and everyone has to get in line.
They had multiple exhibition games and Hali/Tatum proved to be the weak links. Is the coaching staff supposed to ignore this and put a worse product on the floor as an appeasement?
Tatum struggled with his shot, but he is one of the best defenders on the team. He can pretty much guard every position. Pop always understood this. Kerr has no idea how to use Tatum. Not using one your most versatile stars is bad coaching. Whatever, though, I doubt Kerr will be coaching in 2028 anyway.
No one is saying bend over for Tatum, but it shows a lack of creativity that you can’t find time for your best wing defender, lol. I’m fine with this being a farewell tour for LeBron, Durant, and Curry, but outside that, eh.

What about it was a travel?
Yeah, I am confused. It was clearly a step through.

Depending on the team, I think the second unit needs more playmaking and less defense. We get away with it against Serbia.
Yeah, possibly. I think Hali could play against teams with bad guard play.
The problem with building a roster is, how good are players without the ball and how unselfish of a player are you? I don't need 4 guys on the floor that need the ball which is why Embiid looks so horrible. If he's not your first option, he just sort of does almost nothing for you. AD and Bam don't need the ball to be effective.
Tatum is a really good player, but his fit is bad. Maybe if LeBron decided not to play, he would be a bigger factor, but LeBron is just better lol.

It was adressed, no he is not, but this is the KD and LBJ olympic farewell tour, Tatum is #3 on the depth chart as extra insurance. Kerr and Spo will give him some garbage time minutes and that's about it.
The 2024 NBA Champions Boston Celtics depth chart:
Guards: Holiday, White, Pritchard
Wings: Tatum, Brown, Hauser
Bigs: Porzingis, Horford, Kornet
Guards: Holiday, White, Pritchard

All Euro games are like that also. I said for years how bad NBA fans have it now, NBA games are not watchable live, I can only do it if i can fast forward, nba has by far the best talent but by far the worst product from all basketball that I watch. Thats my opinion.
It's still the best product, just very heavily diluted.
I just cant agree on this. Majority of nba brodcast, clock doesnt progresses. I am not a big fan. Also rules abd officiating is not my favorite.
NBA games only flow like that because they are set up for commercials, it's that simple. The NFL is so profitable not only because people enjoy the game but because advertisers can cram the 3 hour broadcast full of commercials, almost 1 hour of that broadcast is commercials. The ball is in play for less than 15 minutes in an NFL game, it's not just NBA fans that are used to this, it's sports fans in America as a whole.
It's also a big reason why soccer hasn't caught on here like it has everywhere else, there aren't enough breaks in play to wedge commercial blocks. If broadcasters and leagues can't load up on breaks they can't make huge money.

Step throughs are legal in all levels of basketball.
As an American, that looked like an illegal step through as he picked up the pivot foot before the start of his jump.

Give Jokic the team KD Lebron has. And he would be the best player on the court. He can only do so much again this super team
He’s just not the best player, simple as that. Giannis was never in question as best player on the court vs Canada, he was by far the best of either team. You were just putting the Serbian team in the same sentence yesterday and I told you that they sucked. You’re always wrong lmao
Comparing Canada to the USA frontline is a joke. Can you be more dishonest than that. One game against the best team in the whole. How does disprove what I said. You said the French were better. How so?

Jokic's 2nd best player can't even play ahead of Lu Dort for Team Canada... just saying/trolling
Imagine if Jokic had an all-NBA caliber guard. We’ll probably never know.
Hmmmm, the same Jamal Murray that nuggets fans were hyping up. Same Jamal Murray that was putting up better stats in the playoffs than current finals mvp, Jaylen Brown? I love the excuses. Don’t care to hear them tho

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Shame that the people on here like to hate on Embiid so much, when it's clear team USA enjoys playing with and supports him. Here's ANT doing the dmx suck it, which Embiid has patented, and ANT did as well during the post season. As usual, the fans hate on a player that most of the actual players don't have an issue with.

The step through is legal when your pivot doesnt drag as blatantly as his did.

This game has absolutely zero energy.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Picking up your pivot foot is a completely legal move in all levels of basketball and all leagues across the world. It is standard basketball. A layup is picking up your pivot foot.
