OK I love Melo and Miller. Two of the most talented players the franchise has ever drafted..this draft tells me our FO has way more trust in them then they should. That, or we are about to trade Melo for next to nothing and starting a super tank.

At least we got both of Coop's teammates now.

After we draft Kalkbrenner, I am going to need someone to find a photo with Carroll, Ammo, and Primo and face swap the new rookie class onto them. 07 Bobcats back from the dead

Liam is another one of these “fall in love with” guys Peterson keeps getting erections over. He also fell lower than expected, so it was grab the falling knife time. Like some others, where the heck do you play this guy? Is he some insurance for Miller in case he’s not healing well?

I would have been fine with Kon at a trade back to 7 or 8, but with some better pick positions as part of the trade. Had the draft played out as it did, and if we had the Nets 19, we could have grabbed Jaku. Then maybe we wouldn’t have taken Liam at 29 and drafter either Fleming or, MAYBE A CENTER SINCE WE TRADED OUR STARTER FOR THE DAMN PICK! But now we wait for to,or row night, hoping either Reynaud or Kalkbrenner are still there at 33. What morons.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Assuming Fleming gets picked in the first couple selections before were up again, I'd go Reynaud/Kalkbrenner with the at 33/34 and let them dual it out for center.

Reynaud is mobile enough and good enough of a shooter, could also play some 4 too.

I feel like we could have traded down to 7 and got Kon and something great from Dumars. The Pelicans really really wanted Fears. Atlanta keeps fleecing NOP instead

Welp, one of Fleming, Raynaud, and Kalk is going to be at our spot. Hope we come away with Noah Penda on top of that.

It seems to me to make a ton of sense and folks just don't like where it points - Mark has major injury issues, LAL was correct to reject the trade, we weren't willing to bet on him overcoming those issues ourselves, and we moved him for whatever value we could because we didn't believe his value would go up before the deadline next year.

Let's draft Raynaud and Penda, they're both French.

It also makes sense if the Hornets front office is bad at talent evaluation and don't like Mark as a player.

I would probably grade the draft a D so far, terrible on all sides to me.

Bad value on Kon, could of moved down.
Bad value on Mark- took on bad money too.
McNeely when you just drafted Kon makes no sense.

Now we will watching Raynaud come off the board before we pick tomorrow to really solidify an F.

If you want some solace and actually some feel good about tonight’s picks, watch this 5 minute segment from CBS Sports that focuses on the Liam pick but also speaks to the Kon selection. Matt Norlander is raving about these selections, gives the Hornets an A on the night. Says we got two of the most competitive, won’t back down skilled basketball players available. Now I can sleep…

So as of now the roster is

starters: LaMelo ~ Green ~ Miller ~ Miles ~ Nurkic
bench5: Mann ~ Kon ~ Okogie ~ Grant (IR) ~ Diabate
depth: Micic ~ NSJr ~ McNeeley ~ Salaun

Awful frontcourt. Only one positive defender at positions 1-3. Lacking rim pressure. Good shooting and decent passing.

Kon and Malauch were the only two guys I absolutely did not want, but if they did draft them I hoped they'd at least pick up extra value, so of course they reached at 4 for one of them instead of trading down.

The Mark trade and Liam pick seem bad at first glance as well. Hopefully good comes of it and I'm wrong, but at this point the more moves Peterson makes the less competent he seems.
