Ah, the Bucks RealGM board...

#3 in the team boards in terms of number posts but always #1 in number of posters with delusions of grandeur.

Joe Alexander, he's very fast, very explosive, but also you can't let up against him at all... he's just 110% all the time, he's a Bob Huggins style of player... and any team that's going to draft him is going to be very happy".

Even Kevin Love is on the Alexander bandwagon. Let the Alexander man-love continue! :D

That's a pretty sweet link. Thanks monkey boy.

I believe that the scenario of Bayless dropping has a good chance to come to pass. But that is probably because I am not a fan of a 6-1 (without shoes) combo guard going that high in the draft (i.e. the 3-5 spots where people have had him) And he's only got a 6-3 wingspan compared to Rose with a 6-8 wingspan.

So if he's there do we pick him?

I can just see his agent telling him the news as Tyrus buries his face in his hands. A moment later Ashton Kutcher jumps out with a camera crew.

I'm betting the rumor was supposed to get out.

Trying to throw something out to see if any other deals come in.

I'm really on the Alexander bandwagon right now unless we get an offer that blows us away and I don't see that happening. I'm hoping that Hammond doesn't move the pick without unloading a bad contract.

Bringing in HInrich would also hinder the playing time we can give to Sessions.

Well written advice europa..

On a side note, I don't think I will be able to post anything on here on draft night. These new boards are garbage..I have to log in four or five times before it will allow me to respond to one post. And then I have to login every time I want to post something.. imagine how bad these boards will be when they are super congested tomorrow!

Hollinger on Alexander (might have been posted before):

Joe Alexander, West Virginia (14.58).

That's it. Thanks for dropping by, everyone.

We'll see a couple other highly touted wings further down the list, but Alexander is the only one who cracks the threshold of a typical lottery selection. And in this case, the fact that Alexander took up the game at a late age means we're probably understating his pro potential.

Hollinger on Bayless:

Solid first-rounders

D.J. Augustin, Texas (14.88); Derrick Rose, Memphis (14.69); Mario Chalmers, Kansas (14.03); Jerryd Bayless, Arizona (14.03).

Surprisingly, nobody rates as a slam-dunk lottery pick, not even Derrick Rose. In fact, Rose came in only second here, partly because he had such a slow start to his freshman season before picking up steam at the end.

Is this enough reason to draft Augustin ahead of Rose? No, because the margin between them is miniscule, and even if their career PERs end up the same, Rose will have far more defensive value given his superior size.

The bigger question is whether a team can justify taking Rose ahead of Michael Beasley, whose 19.19 is the best mark by anyone in the six years for which I have data. Yes, Beasley appears to be a space cadet and that's troubling, but what these numbers say to me is that the talent disparity is simply too big. That is, unless Beasley is such a train wreck off the court that he sabotages his own career, he's probably going to have much better results than Rose. In fact, you can make a strong case that Kevin Love should rank ahead of Rose on draft boards, as well.

Here's another interesting fact: Rose rated slightly higher as a wing (15.34) than as a point guard. That seems crazy, but he has the size to play the 2 if he has to. Just humor me and store that in the recesses of your brain in case you need to access it in a few years.

Finally, it's notable that Chalmers, though widely presumed to be a fringe first-rounder, rates even with Bayless and pretty close to Rose and Augustin.

Joe seems so hungry for coaching that I can't imagine a coach not liking him. From what I've read, he learned a lot of his skills from his first coach and then learned his work ethic and playing temperment from Huggins. He strikes me as very coachable.

LUKE, I also saw that Hollinger article. I'm never completely swayed by stats but every study like that one has convinced me that Alexander is a much better prospect than Randolph. The thing about statistical measures that is nice is that it can help you shed some of your biases and unfounded perceptions.

After some more looking, it should also be noted that Alexander is the 8th highest rated "wing" (sg/sf) to come out since 2002 in Hollinger's system, ranked slightly ahead of Granger, and slightly behind Iguodala.

Yeah, I definitely don't think Hollinger's ranking system is the end all, but it's interesting to look at and the higher ranked guys almost always tend to pan out once they reach the NBA, I think that is why it's so interesting to look at.

And yes, give me a Beasley trade all day. I don't care what issues we have to solve with the rest of the roster if we're building with Beasley/Bogut in the pivot.

MIG

I have been trying to respond to your post for a minute now but every time I finish a post it logs me out again and I have to do the whole 3-5 time attempt to log in again just to post something. Very frustrating...

Anyway, yes.. it has done that to me too. I have just started coping my entire email just in case and waiting for it not to be there so I can try and post it again.

I think the mistake you made was posting anything at all. I understand that you acquired some information and you badly wanted to share something with those of us here. Nothing wrong with that. But if you were being told you couldn't spill any details, the best move to make was to remain silent. By presenting the info even in vague details you opened a Pandora's Box and that's pretty much when everything went crazy.

I respectfully disagree. As a relatively short-time RealGM poster with absolutely no sources, I'd say all hell didn't break loose because of the posting of vague details about a potential trade. It wasn't until wichmae started advertising that anyone who was a loose acquaintance of his could give him their email address and he'd give them the dirt that things got out of hand. That should have been done in private, less (as adamcz so eloquently put it) there be the creation of a perceived 'secret information-exchange club' that everyone who posts here regularly would obviously want to be included in.

I didnt e-mail it to a bunch of people. I sent it to three people two I have met before and one who was vouched for. The mass dissemination of the information came from one of two places and i think I know which one.

Like I said. I trusted the wrong people. Wont happen again...
