Wow, hyperbole at its finest.

Hey, he's a great prospect, but to say there is no questions about his ability is blindly loving him as a prospect. He has major questions that need addressing.

Neither Embiid or Towns do any better at LSU. You'll need to #overthinkthisone.

Purely speculation. How would you like me to argue this? They didn't play there, so there's no way of knowing.

lol, like 2 posts ago you compared how two completely different teams did with Simmons and Durant

Negrodamus wrote:Hey, remember when Durant came to Texas after PJ Tucker, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Boobie Gibson left to the pros? I think he came there along with five star guard DJ Augustin (Antonio Blakeney for Simmons). Also found a way to make the tourney (once again, in a much better conference) and won a game in the first round.

Three can't-miss prospects that would make "The Process" worth every second of agony it caused. We have a chance to come away with 2 of the 3. #don'toverthinkit (can we get this tending?).

This is the core point to be made here.

We are about to come away with 2 of the top 3 prospects over the time since we started the rebuild. 2 out of the 3 franchise players!

There are a couple of other really good prospects that might get there, but the best 3 prospects are those 3, and we will have 2 of them.

Amazing.

I said as much in the Draft thread the day Hinkie resigned.

But I will say I just cast my vote for Simmons. Love Ingram and had leaned that way up until this weekend. With Simmons, the star potential because of his uniqueness got me. I also think he could be a great pair with a healthy Embiid. And I just don't think he's stupid enough to not work hard on his flaws. He has potential to be special on O/D if he cares enough. I don't want a superstar who puts up empty stats on a losing team (Looking at you Melo), that's my biggest worry.

But given I don't know the guy, I don't want to pass on that god given talent.

- Can he implement a mid-range jumpshot?
- Can he harness his competitive, temperamental disposition into motivating his teammates instead of alienating them?

Only two things Ben Simmons needs to address.

Ok, a complete overhaul of his shot, gain confidence with his left had at the rim and bully ball are all exaggerations.

He's as ambidextrous as they come. He's right-handed, but shoots from outside with his left. Could be his problem, ha. But I don't think a guy who shoots with his left needs to gain confidence in finishing with his left at the rim.

Geesh, Ingram can't finish with either hand at the rim. Tayshaun Prince laughs at how skinny Ingram is.

2 different teams with similar situations. I wasn't saying "Hey, Texas would have sucked with Simmons on it".

I was pointing out that if the guy is so damn good, like Durant, he would have been able to make it to the NCAA tourney in arguably one of the most talent deficient NCAA years in the past decade in probably the worst Power Five Conference for basketball. Maybe the Nerlens Noel year was worse.

You're completely missing the point. I'm not putting Simmons on 07 Texas in any way.

Implicitly you are dude. That's the point of your argument, that if the roles were reversed Durant would have made the tourney.

There are no rumblings he want so go to LA. Simmons is just fine coming to Philly. Don't overthink it.

Oh boy, you're the one that threw out the meaningless stat of team wins in college.

Don't pick Shaq. It was him, Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts at LSU and they lost a bunch of games and were bounced early in the tourney. Means nothing.

Yeah, I'd be more worried about Simmons wanting to go to LA if anything had been said after the lottery, but there hasn't been. In fact only encouraging stuff has happened such as his camp mentioning that the Philly market is good and Simmons liking 76ers things on social media.

Nope. I'm saying these guys that go to essentially gutted teams has usually had success. D'Angelo was brought up earlier in here. Beasley fits in this mold. I'm not putting Simmons on K-State or Ohio St, but it's a similar situation.

I'd rather have someone who has the talent to play defense and show lack of effort, than someone who has the desire to play defense but not have the talent to do it.

I really cant make up my mind, especially if we end up trading for 3 or 4 because if we get Ingram I want Dunn, if we get Ben then I want Murray
