Timmy was decent last year. I think you guys are running in front of the train too quick. 71/4 is too much for such player, but if he stays healthy and produces, you'll forget his contract. Only thing I hope he understands is that Porzingis/Frank is the future and not him when he plays.

Patty Mills signed for 15mill per year and everyone said it was a discount/great value deal for SA. THJr is still only 24 and looked really good this year.

12.5 mill a year for Patty Mills. That's a steal. And Mills has done more than Hardaway.

THJ did look better this year...at times. That's the best thing I can say about him. We didn't particularly need him, and I don't see him as a starter level player. I hope we move Lee and Melo with these moves. We can still tank with this guy

No, a good scorer that's only 24 years old is the best thing you could say lol Meaning, in theory, he should get better every year over the life of the contract. We haven't signed a guy like that to big money in a while... We're so used to spending on declining players (Noah, Chandler, Amare, Afflalo, etc.) that are shells of their selves by the time the deal reaches its last year. At least we know that he should play reasonably well throughout.

The closest deal that I could remember to it is signing Allan Houston away from Detroit. Houston was also 24, just had a breakout year and didn't have an all around game. The difference is that Hardaway is much more athletic and a better finisher at the hoop whike Houston was already a 42% 3pt shooter. Very similar signing though, believe it or not.

I'm cautiously optimistic more like hoping for decent scenario not worst case. But for the record I would have been perfectly fine with trading lee and bringing back holiday.

If so, It's the dreaded return to the treadmill of mediocrity, which is a f**king nightmare, because the treadmill can last forever. If you've been a Knick fan since the eighties, you know that the treadmill can last forever.
If we now keep Melo, and try to win next season, then all the Phil hating pitchfork carrying sheep are getting what they deserve: treadmill of mediocrity all over again: Enjoy.

Say what you want about Phil, but he would've had us back in the lottery a year from now which is exactly where we NEED to be.

Sure, he said things like "we're not trying to tank", but actions speak louder, and look at the fact that he's had us in the lottery twice with "stealth" tanking. Sure sounds like rebuilding to me. Too bad the rebuilding plan might be scrapped now.

We already know KP is on his way to greatness (when most on this board were in favor of Mudiay/Johnson/Winslow/Hot Garbage).
God forbid Frank also ends up as a true cornerstone, because then Phil will be remembered favorably and deservedly so. If that happens better hide them pitchforks. Unless you're one of those geniuses who doesn't value building through the draft. If that's you, take a look back at all the picks we've squandered over the years.

I'm drinking for real right now, but I have to hold out hope that this is leading into Melo/Lee being moved. But with Mills/Dolan I have no faith in that. With Phil gone, Honestly wtf did you think was gonna happen when there's no one left to keep Dolan in check?
I will keep telling myself that it's too early to panic, let's see how this shakes out etc... But the only way Timmy is a passable move is if we move Melo/Lee. I need another drink.

Hardaway improved just the same, came out a year after Waiters & is younger than Waiters, carried the bum Hawks towards the end of their regular season & has good character. So yeah.

I think timmy will do fine on an established team but we all saw what he's like with a dysfunctional team. I also wasn't impressed with his game last season. I remember him being pulled to the bench numerous times against us because of his trash defense and chucking bricks.

Lee will be gone in a week probably.
Noah is the only sore contract. Tim will be moveable as the seasons go on. Next season. The year after. As long as he stays where he's at or improves. He's young & that contract will look average by 2019.
Porzingis will be top 3 on team by 2019 also.

I legit think the front office believes Hardaway can really contribute offensively as a starting SG now. When I say that, I mean be a top 15/10 SG. Whereas Holiday was just going to be a really good role player.

Hawks were far from established last season.
The reason why they're rebuilding now & traded away Milsap & Dwight.

Yea, but Justin was payed like a role player and all he had to do is come off the bench get 10 and 5.

Hawks made timmy accountable but didn't totally give up on him. Knicks don't do the same hence why they can't develop players.

SAS will probably really like this move. He liked the Mike Woodson coached teams and THjr was on his last Knicks squad. Also, I think if THjr or his agent have a good relationship with SAS, then SAS will speak glowingly about THjr.

Also, sorry to make it about race too, but I have always gotten the sense that SAS acts carefully in how he goes about criticizing African American coaches or front office executives. I don't think SAS will ever totally have an axe to grind with Steve Mills.

I was shocked to see he averaged over 2 assists last season. This dude was allergic to passing when he was here.

Not only are we paying this dude for potential but on the miniscule chance that he outplays his contract, he has a players option for the final year. Short of a no trade clause, how is this contract defensible?
