I'd say the ONLY reason Hayes didn't get a Flagrant 2 on the hit against Lebron is because on the play previous Lebron cracked his ribs with an elbow and the refs didn't call anything. :roll:

It could easily be called a Flagrant 1, as well. Part of the bad optics are because Crowder exaggerates the contact, as usual.

The difference between a Flagrant 1 and Flagrant 2 is basically a subjective judgement call by the official.

Do you really think we can't find hundreds of examples of Flagrant 1's that are equal or worse to this?

Here's the same player earlier in the season. This is clearly intentional as well. Why is it not Flagrant 2 but the one last night is?:

Man you’re really up a tree about this. If there were football refs out there they would have called unnecessary roughness. I know Jae can be a flopper but how do you flop a blind sided hockey check? Come talk to us when your best players get suspended in the WCF for stepping over an out of bounds line during an altercation they weren’t even in.
