But the sad truth is that THIS is his market value. There's one GM willing to take a shot on him, and only at the expense of another really bad contract. If Orlando pulled the deal off the table, who knows how long we'd have been stuck with Gilbert for? We're 6-15. He's not playing well. He wanted out. We're rebuilding.
It was time.
This is going to save ownership a lot of money that i have NO DOUBT they are going to re-invest into building this franchise. It's a tough day. This medicine doesn't taste good, but it's going to help us get healthy.
Go Wiz.
Is that you Ernie?? If we needed to move on from Gil, I'd have rather Starbury'd him than swapped him for another long, garbage deal. EG couldn't even get an expiring in 2yrs player?? What a joke.
If Gil goes to Orlando & it turns out he's been playing possum to get out of DC & Ernie let him do it for nothing in return, this organization will have major rotten egg on their faces. There is just zero upside to this deal. Screw 20million in 3 years. Not worth the risk for no draft picks or young players in return.
He's not playing possum. You can't fake that lack of explosion when he goes to the hoop. He's going to the situation he needs to be in at this time....As a role player on a playoff veteran team....
Draft picks and young players in return for Gil? Who in their right mind was going to give us that? Please tell me
Hedo just fetched that, and he sucks worse. Phoenix was able to get Gortat too as well as Peitrus. Peitrus is better than Lewis is as well. If you want your SF to shoot 3s and defend, give me Pietrus any day of the week.
