Once Lin signed the offer sheet we can't S&T him, just like we couldn't trade Landry after he signed with Toronto

puke.

To be fair, we will have a something like 90 million in expiring contracts to play with. Any preemptive actions in regards to the third year, needs to take that into account.

If we don't match Lin over an additional Steve Novak, we were never going to match him.

Howard Beck ‏@HowardBeckNYT
THIS MT @fivethirtyeight MSG stock has gained ~$600m in market cap since Lin's first start. Skeptical they'd let him go

Cool. Did he excel afterwards ? Take that great year and expand on it ? What year of his career is he in ? Is he known for always being in great shape and ready to play ?

He just turned 28 for christ sake, he had one bad season, in a bad fit for him as a team, coach or whatever, **** like that happens.

But he's a proven starter in this league, that played like an All Star for us about 1year and a half ago, he's a proven winner since High School, he played great also in Charlotte,...

And you're so mad cause we lost a guy that played 35 games for the Knicks and average more turnovers than rebounds... god, you're on drugs, or maybe Lin is a drug, don't care.

Jeremy Lin is the new Ronald Murray.

He is a really solid backup PG... he is a medicore (at best) startinG PG.

Funny because the same exact thing could be said about Lin.

Why is it okay for Lin to only put up big numbers in D'Antoni's system, but not okay for anyone else?

Which is it, you can't have it both ways.

This was a good trade regardless of whether we sign Lin (hopefully we do). Are they thinking of playing him at SG when Kidd is on the floor?

Frank Isola ‏@FisolaNYDN
And one more thing. I still say this somehow goes back to Chris Paul. There may just be a method to the Knicks madness
 What a weird guy he is.

Um yeah. Makes no sense not to match. It would be insanity all around. Calm down everyone.

Arash Markazi: I'd still be shocked if the Knicks don't match the Jeremy Lin offer. It may not make basketball sense but it makes perfect business sense.

At 3 mill a year, Felton could one day be traded again. Nice trade chip.

We should all be tracking MSG's stock price movements tomorrow. That by itself may tell us what we need to know.

Last I remembered Melo played in a high scoring, fast style tempo in Denver & last I remembered Felton plays best as a halfcourt PG.

What really are you saying fam?

Frank Isola: Look at his this way: Knicks got Lin for nothing and made a lot of money off him. Rockets cut Lin & is now willing to pay Lin $25 million 2 minutes ago

JJ is a center who can mentor young players now ?

i think id rather that job go to Kurt Thomas, but hell if you wanna give him to us, thats fine too.....

HUH? It's one thing to want Lin here (most do). It's another to start ranting and making up stuff. You have no idea if it was Lin that wants out. And "send press to show the players are traitors"? What does that mean? When have they ever done this to anyone? Even Marbury and Curry never got labeled as anything bad by the Knicks and they've been the 2 biggest blemishes in the eyes of fans for this franchise in recent memory.

He consistently averaged 12-14 ppg and 6-7 apg. Felton is not Howard Eisley or Jamison Brewer. He's a solid player and shouldn't get hated on like that. Heck, Lin will likely put up 12-14 and 6-7 type of stats next season.

He was this year.[/quote]

Bashing Felton after leaving the Knicks is not quite fair. He was devastated to leave NY and then was forced to back up Karl favorite Lawson in Denver after the melo trade. He was then dealt to Portland where he had issues with the coach and not a great fit in that offense.

He did rebound to post a 2nd half of 12.9/6.9 on 44% shooting (38.4% from 3) averaging 31.23 mins/game.
That's not garbage.
