Kemba is probably going to have knee surgery this offseason from reading the tea leaves. I’m on record multiple times that we should bring him off the bench to better manage his minutes.
That said, he was still a positive overall as our offense falls off a cliff when he sits. Given how critical he is to the locker room, they’re not going to trade him. Add in the probable knee surgery? No one will want him. Its pointless to even waste space speculating elsewise.
You dont keep a player at 34 million a season to be a locker room presence and to come off the bench.
Danny will look at what is out there for him. What he brings is replaceable, and what he doesnt bring is obtainable.
And an organization thats known for being callous doesnt ditch good players because they **** up their knee during the season. This isnt NBA2K.
But they will trade one that **** up their hip during the season?
Its a business, and if there is a deal that makes the team better, then management will make the deal.
The only real debate is if there is a better deal out there to be had, not if management will or will not look to improve the team at the loss of Kemba. Kemba is not untouchable.
