I would be fine with that if Orlando doesnt move #16.

I could see Utah taking him at 5 and then moving sexton... to Orlando :P

I think regardless Utah is in a spot to take Edgecomb, Fears or Johnson.

I feel for Utah falling to #5, but my hot take is that Tre Johnson will end up being better than both Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey.
Also, Edgecomb is a stat sheet stuffer. Just a guy you want on your team to win basketball games. Both of those guys are just better basketball players right now.

Edgecomb has been my dude for a while now, like you said just an absolute stat stuffer. Kinda reminds me of old school Wade, just a bucket getter and athleticism off the charts

Yeah.

Would be crazy to have a Edgecombe/Suggs back court. I'll be following what that kid ends up doing in the league for sure. I pray he doesnt end up in Charlotte.

A lot of mocks have us trading 16 and picking Walter Clayton at 25. I know that would piss off a ton of people but I can't think of way worse scenarios.

Honestly wouldn't mind Clayton at 25 as long as Cole is gone and we upgrade the playmaking guard spot. Clayton probably fills in as a 4th guard option at worst and you kick his rookie contract down the road.

I think that is pretty ideal, if Clayton gets to 25 he is a no-brainer.

I think trading one for a proven guy and using one 1st and a 2nd is pretty optimal. Reality is they have to make a trade and I would rather trade one of these than use both and trade a future one at this point. I think it would be better to stagger when our young players come in so they don't all need extension decisions made at the same time. But I also realize draft day deals are not guaranteed to materialize.

Washington would be a fun landing spot for him as well, Bub and Edgecomb would be a fun watch most nights. Charlotte would be an awful fit for sure but have to imagine they'd be thrilled with one of Ace/Johnson at 4.

Yeah I have no interest watching VJ against whoever our back court becomes on that Hornets team.

I already hate more than half their roster and it seems like everyone that goes there drops in IQ as soon as they wear a jersey.

Washington would be cool next to Bub. Utah would be cool because they could send us Sexton for Denvers pick and filler.

He reminds me of a hybrid Oladipo/Suggs/Wade-lite

Who would this piss off? Seems like a perfect plan.

Kon was my favorite prospect. He could fall some because of his measurements.

He might fall like a few spots, from top 7 to 16 seems totally incalculable.

I think Kon could fall because of lack of perceived upside as well. I always see him mocked high, but who is taking him super early? Why would the Wizards take Kon instead of a boom or bust swing like Maluach? Same goes for teams like the Jazz and Pelicans. I could be off, but I think he could go in that 10-14 range or possibly even slip through.

My problem with him is he is too small to guard wings and probably too slow to guard 2s, but I believe he has the work ethic to not be too bad at defense. Would be a fine pick at 16 IMO, but not one of my favorite players. I just don't think it is that hard to buy shooting for cheap in the NBA (insert Magic shooting joke, I know). You have to believe he can hold his own on defense and that he can be pretty good attacking closeouts in the NBA to take him high, don't think either are guaranteed. I don't really consider 16 high though and wouldn't feel bad about him where we are at all.

Pettiford put up 23 pts 8 assists in the scrimmage. Guy is extremely talented on offense, but very small. Actually looked OK on defense here though. Maybe an option at 25. The rise of Clayton, Traore and Pettiford coupled with Jase maybe dropping has made the guard options a bit more interesting for us.

McNeely has a neutral wingspan and poor standing reach but great height (6'8) and terrific quickness (same size as Kennard but much quicker).

Really interesting prospect IMHO

Had a down year shooting but every other year he shot very well.... Solid mechanics.... 86% from the free throw

dsg2021 wrote:We need to put a microscope on Dylan Harper stats and clips/full game tapes since SAS is genuinely open to shopping the #2 pick. Our backcourt is that bad of a shape that a rookie is still a win-now move, lol.

SAS are good drafters, so that's already one small red flag for Dylan Harper that SAS isn't just like "Dylan is a Spur" like DAL did with Cooper already. I got D'Angelo Russell vibes from Harper in admittedly very, very little clips watching. But any scouting reports that say a James Harden comp like it does with Harper is my dream player, lol.

Spurs are stacked at that position...otherwise, it's a no-brainer.
