Unless the deal is PERFECT, there is no reason to make it earlier than you need to. You never know who panics at the last minute. You don't want to have already traded your chips.

Fair point. But from the Orlando perspective if you're getting Reggie for Augustine and Green it shouldn't matter the fodder. If the hold up is you want Baynes and Detroit is offering Udrih/Bullock (or the vice versa) I'd think you'd just take Detroit's standing offer in the matter and laugh all the way to the bank.

I guess we'll know in a few days. Rumors that leak usually end up not happening. I mean Harris for Jennings/Ersan was never heard until announced, so both our orgs have proven to be able to keep things on the down low.

Going after Brandon Knight right now would feel an awful lot like we traded for Brandon Jennings.
