That said, you never know which star player will demand a trade next.

Maybe Dinwiddie?
I like Dinwiddie a lot but trading a top 5 pick for him seems steep. Now maybe a pick swap and that could make some sense. That's actually something the nets would have to consider because Russell's impending contract and while they are a good story they probably need to add a blue chipper or two to really compete long term so taking a swing in the top 5 would be appealing.

the idea of bringing on Nash in any capacity worries me knowing how impatient and vicious this fanbase can get. It feel like Nash would just be set up to fail and I don’t really want see a Suns GOAT ripped apart

Luckily he would never want the job anyways

Well the one good thing about having a villain for an owner is if **** goes bad most people will blame it all on him. In a way it's a no lose because if Nash was brought in and things went well hell get all the credit and if it goes wrong hell avoid some blame.

Aaron Gordon is a name to watch if Isaac continues to play well.

Maybe something like Jackson and suns 1st for Gordon and Orlandos 1st.

How would Gordon be next to Ayton?

Nash would be a PR move so I can see Bobby S doing that.

They need somebody above Jones - hence Griffin. Though as noted, his track record, not great.

I can see a guy like Stu Jackson - maybe not him but a guy with league experience to mentor Jones

Langdon and Jones don’t seem like a fit.

Sam Hinkie?

Nash has too much integrity to get bought by Robert Sarver as his puppet imo.

Even when Nash came back to the league as a consultant/assistant coach, it was for the Warriors and not the Suns. Of course the Suns tried to spin it Nash wanting to be closer with his family so Warriors making more sense.

I wish Sarver could find a more seasoned mentor type that listens to Bobby S blather but than works with Jones/Buckstein day to day.

This would also mean Sarver cannot get into the building :)

Sarver has never learned if he wants to win and make more money. - GTFO!!

Compiling a few responses to my last post....

Dinwiddie for a top pick would be an irresponsible trade. Don’t see him having near that type of value.

Saric I was a big fan of last year but he hasn’t looked great this whole season. Depending on where the pick swap is I theoretically like it, but he’s not a needle mover. I’d rather just have Brandon Clarke.

Aaron Gordon I’ve already mentioned I like because the talent is inarguable. He’s still just 23 and locked in to a very good contract. Fit with Ayton is not perfect but it’s a big upgrade over what we have. A deal here seems realistic.

Conley and Lowry would be the other obvious two to look out for.

Why exactly would we want Kenneth Faried? I guess for vet minimum energy end of bench guy maybe.

Dinwiddie is a 17/5 guy off the bench, which I think would be better than what we would get out of a pick 3-7, but we would have to add some salary for a trade to work. I would love a pick swap, but they have him locked up for a bit, so we would have to make some sort of a sweetener to get him.

14.9/9.4? But we would have to pay more than the vet min, for he could get that anywhere, or just stay with the Rockets.

I don't think Dinwiddie is worth a top 7 pick.

Those numbers are there because of Harden and Paul.

He is a C in the current NBA. I would like him as a backup C on our roster. Not more than that.

I thought there was a story that they offered him a position like this and he turned it down a few years ago.

JJJ would be perfect. I wonder if #2+Jackson + maybe Milwaukee pick would get it done.

We would likely have to get our pg in fa then unless we trade Bridges.

What about Miles Bridges? Think he is probably easier to obtain but not quite as good of a fit. Love his defensive intensity and the one thing he knows already is how to play without fouling.

I thought Miles was a SF? I think we are set at sf.[/quote

From the few hornets games I’v Watched I saw multiple times they have ran him at 4. Looking at his frame he appears to be strong than you would think and his athleticism makes up for his lack of true size. (Poor mans Marion)
