Yes, he's a terrific shooter and had great splits before injury. He played on-ball more than he should have as well.Skybox wrote:KillMonger wrote:Had a down year shooting but every other year he shot very well.... Really interesting prospect IMHO

In the one write up I read on the Athletic said he shot 13% on pull up 3s, because he was asked to operate as a ballhandler which he did not handle well. It did say he was an elite shooter in highschool, which I imagine you'd have to be to be ranked RCSI 10 as a white kid who is not an elite defender or attacker.

Coward keeps impressing. I'll be curious where they mock him.

Yep, I felt he had too much on his plate which help lead to the inefficient year shooting....in a situation where he doesn't have to be so much of a creator he should be back to where he was

My evaluation, too. A movement shooter with his size and quickness reminds me of someone... Also high IQ and connective passing.KillMonger wrote:eyriq wrote:Yes, he's a terrific shooter and had great splits before injury. He played on-ball more than he should have as well.Skybox wrote:

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
I think I'm staying put, though bumping Fleming up is tempting.
Top 5 Shortlist (Ranked):
1. Liam McNeeley – Best blend of fit and upside (shooting, size, IQ)
2. Walter Clayton Jr. – Immediate impact guard, elite shooter, low mistake player (BPM 11.2)
3. Derik Queen – Playmaking big to groom behind/with Wendell, addresses playmaking need in frontcourt
4. Kam Jones – Versatile guard who checks both playmaking and shooting boxes for second unit or spot starts
5. Rasheer Fleming – Two-way forward, could become Swiss-army-knife defender with a developing shot

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
On paper... dont you guys think Wolf is better than Queen?
They both are below the rim bigs that can handlr the ball and can pass. Yet Wolf is like 2 inches taller.

At 16, I like Rasheer and Coward. If they are gone, Wolf, Clayton, and McNeeley.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
If you are looking for playmaking as much as shooting I think this is the list:
1. Will Riley
2. Walton Clayton Jr.
3. Nique Clifford
4. Egor Demin
5. Jace Richardson
6. Ben Saraf
7. Nolan Traoré

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
You just can't convince me to draft a Forward at #16 given the construction of the roster should they keep the pick.
Franz and Paolo are getting maxed and playing as many minutes as possible on this team.
I'm good with Jase Richardson, Cedric Coward, Walter Clayton, and Mark Sears depending on the pick number.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
I'm still on the Nique Clifford boat for #16 or #25.
A 6'9 player with a 38 3P% and a 27% AST% Rate on a team-leading 4.4 APG. Neither Anthony Black nor Tristan Da Silva had as high of an APG in College. Put him at the Point for us.

If we came out to of this Cedric Coward and Yaxel in the first round I'm down. Mix of all around capabilities along with the traits our FO love.... Positional size and defense.

Don't think all the athletic testing is done, but did see Drake Powell had a 43 inch vert which is near top 10 ever I think. Jase Richardson inherited a little from his dad at least with a 38 inch vert.
For the love of God we better not use another 1st round pick on a guard who isn’t naturally a PG.
Walt is a perfect fit imo...besides he isn't going start right away. I gotta imagine we are trading for Simons...it just makes too much sense and the trade is easy to make. Or I gotta think they gotta want Black to start soon...I mean we spent a 6th pick on him.
Steph wasn't a naturally "PG"...I just think Walt if he reaches his peak like in college is the perfect compliment next to Suggs. Let Suggs wreck havoc and let Walt spill in 3s. I will be so freaking happy if they pick Walt.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

I would be fine with that if Orlando doesnt move #16.
As a Gator fan...I watched alot of SEC basketball. Fears would be the SEC player of the year if he came back to OU. He is so legit. He ain't dropping to 16 but if he did I'd run to the podium not walk.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft
As i said in the GB... the PR people of Coward must be top notch.
I wpuldnt even know of him tillbhe became Dukes NIL portal target. Was skeptical cuz he played..m less than 10games in an obscure conference.
Now all of a sudden he is a 1st round pick? Without dping anything? Wow
