Panthers traded CMC because they wanted to rebuild.

And we got literally nothing out of it. If you want to track where all 4 of those picks went, it's pretty much become DJ Johnson. Thank you for making my case that trading an injured star for pennies on the dollar is a pants on head stupid ass move
We didn't win with CMC or LaMelo

You guys are obsessed with stars who don't contribute to winning.

Every year it's the same damn excuse. Just give LaMelo more time to get healthy. Every season he let's you down.

I'll just let you guys keep hoping. It's pretty obvious LaMelo has chronic ankle issues. But I guess it will get better with age.

Right because we are better when he plays. We are worse when he doesn't play.
So trading him is likely doing one thing, making us for sure worse.

You also have preached that we should trade for Zion, Paul George... so this hasn't been some clear message you have been speaking like you make it out to be in hindsight lol

JustBuzzin wrote:No chance we trade the #1 pick.
Not like there are any players Giannis who would come to play for a losing organization like Charlotte anyway.
I do however think we could trade picks 4-7 range for a Zion.

JustBuzzin wrote:I still say if we don't get a top 2 pick we need to go all in on Zion. This franchise has to make a splash for a change.
Flagg/Harper or Zion those are my only options this off-season.

You were ready to trade the pick that became Kon for Zion, not that long ago.

Can't defend LaMelo so he goes off topic about stuff I posted in the past.

As if everyone doesn't say crazy things in the past. I'm sure if I took time I could find something you said that was crazy.

Posting my old trade ideas is pointless. :D

Any trade now will likely factor into what our plans are in FA this summer. So here is a very brief overview.

We currently have 144 million under cap next season- including 12 players.
LaMelo, Miles, Green, Grant, Miller, Kon, Mann, Tidjane, Liam, Kalk, Sion, Moussa.

The cap will be 166 million, so we have 22 million in cap space. (not including 1st round rookie salary).

Our Free agents include:
Sexton- 18.75 Million
Connaughton- 9.4 million
Plumlee- 2.3 million

If the plan is to resign Sexton long-term that + the rookie we draft in the lottery would eat up majority of cap space.

Here is a FA breakdown

Notable UFA
Porzingis, Coby White, Norman Powell, LeBron, Tobias Harris, CJ McCollum, Cam Thomas, Quinton Grimes, John Collins, Rui Hachimura, Harrison Barnes and Vucevic.

Notable RFA
Jaden Ivey, Mathurin, Sochan, Duren, Mark Williams, Tari Eason and Walker Kessler.

Players with giant Player Options that will likely be accepted
Trae Young, Harden, Lavine, Wiggins, FVV, KCP

Best FA name is Austin Reeves, but Lakers have plenty of cap space to give him 50 million Max contract- so no point living that pipe dream.

As far as teams with a lot of cap space.
Wizards have 100 million in cap space.
Bulls have 80 million in cap space.
Utah has 60 million in cap space.
Lakers have 60 million in cap space.
Nets have 40 million in cap space.

Clippers are a Darkhorse team that could have 60 million in cap space if Harden leaves or is traded.

The point is you probably switch your mind up on the board more than anyone when it comes to how you view our players or players in general. So you acting as if trading LaMelo today is so obvious is funny because you have flip flopped on it 10x in the last 16 months. So to act like you have always had this conviction and told you so when it comes to trading him is just not factual.

And if LaMelo comes back and plays good ball for 3 weeks you will probably change your mind again.

Maybe a riskier trade, but Lively hasn't been nearly as effective without Luka. I wonder if the Mavs would be open to trading him for their pick back.

Read on Twitter
?s=20

He can actually defend some of the perimeter and he has good size. Basically merges Kalk and Moussa into one center.

This is helpful. There's a big Brandon Miller extension question coming this summer too.

I would consider giving Dallas their pick back for Lively.

I currently dislike Sexton slightly less than Mann, but Mann is younger and locked up for a couple years on a much cheaper contract. I think there is only room for one of the two on the roster, so I would look to trade Sexton before the deadline so they don't have to pay him and hopefully get a little value out of him.

They shouldn't be resigning Connaughton or Plumlee in any scenario, so if they get off Sexton they can have some cap space to play around with this summer.

I wouldn't sign Lively as he has re-hurt the same foot he had surgery on last summer.
We have enough of that stuff already.
I would trade sexton for whatever we don't need to pay him a raise to do not much.
Mann too. He is terrible. If we have to keep one though, keep the cheap one.
Would rather stock up on defense first guards.

I haven't suggested trading Lamelo every season?

That seems pretty consistent.

This a trade topic. Of course my mind has changed. So has yours. Don't try to make me out to be the only poster who mind changes.
