this draft is gonna be amazing Wiggins,Parker,Exum,Smart,Randle, all of those guys are #1 overall in the average draft, even some guys out of the top 5 could be like Harrison twins and Gordon. this draft has crap loads of talent and if Charlotte gets 3 of them they are playoff bound in 1st season as the Hornets around 50 wins probably.

maybe they get

Andrew Harrison to play SG 6'5" think taller Dwyane Wade

Doug McDermott to be our 3pt marksman maybe the next Kyle Korver just bigger (made 48% of jumpshots which is
just stupidly good) put him with Mark Price who knows how good he'll get

Montrezl Harrell all hustle good defender and rebounder should learn a lot from Al and Ewing and he is a great athlete could make a beastly defensive/rebounding duo with Biz

Cheers fats.

Amazing story!!

i am just now getting around to reading this story. i didnt have time earlier. this is really good stuff, a must read for old school hornets fans.

i love this par

SCHEER: Muggsy was probably our premier local hero. He was 5 foot 3. George Shinn could relate to him, as could many of the fans. He was George’s favorite. Dick Harter wanted to trade Muggsy. Every single day he would come into the office and say, “can’t win with a 5-foot-3-inch guard. We’ve got to trade him. We’ve got to trade him.”

Every day, I would say, “Dick, that’s the one guy George would put his foot down. He’s not going to trade him.”

My suggestion was forget it.

But he wouldn’t forget it.

Finally he got to me, and I said, “I’ll get Shinn, OK? You and I will sit up in this conference room, and I’ll give you one shot at him. You make your presentation, and that’s it.”

He said, “OK.”

I set the date up. George at that point was always dressed in a suit and white shirt and tie. He comes in and sits at the end of this long conference table. I’m at the other end with Harter. We actually had an echo it was such a big room.

I said, “OK. Dick, go ahead.”

I turned around, and there’s no Harter. He’s on his hands and knees, with his nose up on the conference room table, sort of looking over it. And he goes, “This is what Muggsy sees when he’s playing defense! This is what Muggsy sees!” He’s got his eyes just over the top of the conference table, and he’s on his hands and knees.

I look down at George, and George is not laughing. I’m about ready to bust. Here we are in a meeting to talk about a player, and he’s on his hands and his knees, with his nose on the table.

When that was over, I said, “Dick, that’s the most creative presentation I ever saw. Too bad you’ll probably be fired.”

^ Lol. I'm an old Hornets fan, but I'm too lazy to read lengthy articles. Now I'll read it.

It's an awesome read.

I love the bit where Shinn and co go to meet Stern and Stern pulls out the cigar and asks them what their presentation is.

He then admits he doesn't know where Charlotte is!!

Hilarious.

Stern gave out a franchise to a place until then he didn't know existed.

I love the Sternbot.

I was mainly referencing the random Trayvon Martin thing.

I went to the Panthers vs Rams game and I wore my Bobcats shirt because it is the only thing I have that is Charlotte related right now. I actually got a few comments and compliments and it is good to hear I must say. One fellow fan asked me if I was a Bobcats fan and I shook my head yes and he said "That's Good, me too." To be honest he seemed kind of surprised. Then once I was inside the stadium a guy came and patted me on the shoulder and said "Hornets next year". I must say that really put a smile on my face.

For the players, it must be really exiting to now that they will be part of the renewal of the Charlotte Hornets !

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's been a reason why Al Jefferson signed with us.
