in regards to the pick, when I thought about it, Wolves need a vet SG more than a rookie. If you want shooting, there's a lot of them in the free agency or trade.
Adelman might prefer a vet 3D wing than a rookie.

Just trade for Afflalo and call it a day damnnit! =)

Worth 26th or no?

Of course not. He might be there at 52.

Seems like a good combo of defense and offense. Was thinking he would be nice if we got a big man with 9. Saw some mocks have him go at pick 32.

Timberwolves Targeting Oladipo - Magic

Post#1364 » by mbn23 » Fri May 24, 2013 5:37 pm

Wolves really want Oladipo. What are some of the trade ideas?

Wolves in:
#2 pick, Affalo

Magic in:
#9 pick, Shved, rights to 2015 pick

We can't trade our 2015 pick because we owe the Suns a lottery protected pick.

How we didn't get Robin Lopez in that trade is beyond me.

If we are targeting Oladipo, we really don't need Afflalo, unless he's to become our starting SF after this year.

That said, #2 + Afflalo for #9, Shved, and Williams is probably fair trade value wise.

Yep, I think we'd probably have to include Williams to stay under the tax. I'd do that deal, too.

Wolves Trade: Derrick Williams, #9 pick
Thunder Trade: Jeremy Lamb #12 pick

Im still convinced Jeremy Lamb will be an allstar. OKC is just the worst possible situation for him.

Correct, but we could offer a future 1st that takes effect two years after we give PHX their pick. It might be worth less if teams think we'll be in the lottery forever and we'll never convey that pick under the seven-year rule.

I like this better than my Gordon trade. And I do like Afflalo's fit as SF.

Afflalo at SF? He's only around 6'5". He would get abused almost every night there.

He already routinely defends the opposing best scorer (LeBron, Durant, Anthony), so how would moving to SF be any different?

Another option could be trading for 3/Ariza

Not sure if that's meaningful. Who else on Orlando can defend wings at all?

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Really tough decision. I'd take VO because he's my favorite player in the draft and I love how hes so aggressive in every aspect of his game.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
