Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XXVI
my targets would be Ed Davis, Pierre jackson, Marvin Williams and Jordan Hill. Obviously we aren't going to get all of them, but getting 2 of the four should be the goal.
Pierre jackson+Rivers for Singleton+Jan+'15 2nd
Ed Davis for Rights to porter+Booker
Gortat+Ariza for Asik+Caspi
Wall/Jackson
Beal/Rivers
Webster/ GR JR
Nene/Davis
Asik/Seraphin
Meh, one can dream I suppose.

Unless you get a 1st rd pick, there's no point in trading Ariza;
Gortat would likely get you something;
Martell- Not sure what he'd get you considering his deal. You'd either get an equal type of contract of nothing;
Otto- If we're dumping shouldn't we keep him and let him play?
Lastly Nene. He's nearly impossible to dump. You'll either get zero return of an equally bad contract. If New orleans was willing to do Nene for Gordon I'd 100% do it though. I'm just worried that current mgmt and ownership foolishly consider Nene to be a core piece and fundamental to our young player's development. If you can't dump Nene, then the reboot never gets off the ground.
What do you mean there's no point? You don't have to get a first round pick for the guy, a Ariza for Asik and maybe their 39th pick (mind you, not sure Morey would do this since he doesn't like to lose trade deals) works. It gives us a starting caliber center, allows us to move Gortat or let him walk, will help us make the playoffs so the pick isn't going to be that high, and you get a high 2nd rounder that can be used on a big.
That's fine if Houston were willing to do Ariza for Asik but I'm not assuming that's on the table for us.

Feeling disgusted about the Ridnour rumors.his numbers are atrocious on the season.
Really upset that the nets are about to get Jordan Hill for nothing.

Prediction: Denver Nuggets trade PG Andre Miller to the Washington Wizards for PF Jan Vesely, PG Garrett Temple and a 2015 second-round pick.
I'd sub out both Temple and Vesely and insert Singleton and Maynor. There's no way the Wizards are going to keep 2 backup point guards, one of which has a player option while the other has a non-guarantee deal. You can't pay both.
The 2nd round pick would have to be with restrictions as well. We're doing Denver a favor, not the other way around.
If the Wizards give up a 2nd they have to be able to ship out Maynor

It's costing them tax wise though. They can't afford to miss the playoffs and have Atlanta swoop in and swap picks.

If EG had pushed harder in the Gortat negotiations, they Wizards would have had a big enough TPE to absorb Jordan Hill. I completely understand dealing Jordan Hill from the Lakers Point of view.

Sure, why not.

Hey, maybe we could get in on this as well. We could use two young SF. Shot gun approach. Whatever sticks.
Then next year we have Barnes and Otto
I don't know. Kind of mostly joking but who knows.

Problem is Randy didn't play anyone not named Booker enough to get anything for them. And EG blow multiple chances at getting a back up PG. Talk about getting kicked in the knee and then shooting your foot to distract from the knee pain. Then going for the other foot.
They could have made so many decisions to put them on a different better path. And easy ones at that. And that ignoring going back years. Just recently. There are like 10 things just since last year starting with Randy mismanaging Crawford and the wasted summer of PG audition that lead to NOTING. No Crawford, Livingston, Pargo, Price, or Mack. And then no Kendall, Barbosa, Wolters or even Burke or P Jackson. And no Len or Noel so we have no center prospect.
NOTHING. Actually less then nothing.
They are paying Shannon Brown 3.5. Kendall 2M and Dray 7.8M and another 8.4M next year.
There is just no possible way Ted can keep EG after those mess ups. NONE.

Who blinks first?
Jazz get: Beal, Nene, Otto
Wiz get: Kanter(2 years of control remaining), Hayward(RFA), Jefferson(exp)
We dump Nene for an expiring and I'll take Enes/Gordo > Beal/Porter even though Hayward will be very expensive starting next year. This also frees up some salary for this year to make another deal.
Jazz have the cap space but not enough appeal to draw Free Agents. They take on Nene for the slow developing Kanter, dodge the threat of losing Hayward for 0 this summer, and pick up some nice wing prospects to go with Burke/Burks.

I don't see anything coming back that makes me consider giving up Beal. I would be looking for Favors + incentive to consider giving up Beal.

I'd consider it. I like Hayward and Kanter and we dump Nene.

Thanks for the correction, I believe the ESPN article (or another recent article), has him listed at 5"8.
Memo to Ted: IT Jr and Jackson have been mentioned in trade-talks (picks 59 & 42). Drafting-well matters, 2nd-round picks are not to be tossed-away like Ernie Grunfeld's stale gum.

Hey guys, after reading the Wiz have an interest in Ridnour, what do you think about this deal?
Ridnour for Maynor and Singleton?
As a Bucks fan, I'm intrigued by Singleton and maybe a change of scenery is just what he needs? As for Maynor, he's tight with Larry Sanders so maybe that will help Larry on and off the court?
Luke is a good guy, a very solid back up and could help a team that needs another guard for a playoff run.

Ridnour is bad, but he's better than Maynor and he gets the Wizards out of Maynor's contract. Sure.
