Now that the Clippers are imploding and West surely thinking about firing Rivers and blowing it up...

Griffin for Chriss, Monroe, Suns '18, Miami '18 (maybe Bucks '18)?

Open roster spot by cutting Jones?

I think it will probably be a Sarver buyout to save money

I too think this is the most likely option. IMO, none of these three contracts have positive value except Alex's - and the only reason Alex's contract has value is because of the Bird rights that attach to it. And of course, that right is not transferable until the offseason.

I guess I would prefer trying to deal Tyson for a PG with a contract of equal length and value, along with as many as three second rounders to make up for any difference in value. Unfortunately, aside from Eric Bledsoe, the only contracts leaguewide that fit this description are Jerry Bayless, Austin Rivers and Ricky Rubio. I don't think any of those teams would be interested.

I could see McD just waiting out the season. In the summer, I imagine we'd express an interest in re-signing Len and Monroe, depending on what's available. If Len or Monroe wants our help getting to a new team, we'd simply collect a TPE and maybe a second rounder.

As for making a major FA splash - I see McD and the FO giving that a real shot next year, no matter whom we draft. DeMarcus Cousins, Avery Bradley, Chris Paul, Deandre Jordan. I would prefer to stay away from... all four actually, unless Avery could be had at a reasonable price (which I don't anticipate).

I don't have a problem trading Monroe - even though I think I like what he see from him - if the Suns could make a trade that nets a positive asset . That's the way I want to use his contract as opposed to just a buy out I think Chandler has value but it will take back a contract like you said: Bayless, or Austin Rivers.

Maybe its a lesser player like Troy Daniels - very cheap contract that could me moved.

Gobert and Griffin are isolated stars on losing teams at the moment.

I think either one would get us to 40 wins next season.

What a lopsided trade. Come on Ra. We are not giving them our 2018 pick.

Monroe or Chandler
Chriss
The Heat Pick

It'll have to be a young 2nd tier star coming back for me to give up that 2018 pick. Someone like a KP

right - because even though the Suns are sitting at 7 now - I can see that number possibly getting to the 4 or 5 range and not much lower than 10..

I am not saying don't trade that Suns pick - but it has to be for the right long term player.
Heat pick, Chriss, second rounders, one of the centers Dudley, even Ulis if a long term PG is coming back - fine with any of those

Watching him with the Bucks and...he still doesn't seem to play hard???

I feel that he is playing it safe...

until he gets an extension.

He is out of contract after next season and with his knees... it only gets worse.

He is playing at 70%, just enough to hopefully get a 15+ million 4-5 year contract.... I feel anyways.

I just wish had traded him for more but who knows, that Monroe expiring might have value . Just timing of moving Monroe, meeting the 12/15 when more players can be moved and of course the James 12/6 deadline

Griffin's health scare me too. Last three seasons he's played 67 games, 35 games and 61 games. Bledsoe played more games than him. He's Year 1 into his max extension and I'm not sure I want to risk that albatross in our books if he does go down.

No, I am not wanting Griffin or Millsap and glad the Suns didn't get both

And I really do not know what player the Suns could get for Monroe, Heat pick, maybe a young player like Chriss . Will be interesting in two weeks with the 12/6 deliverable and than 12/15 when more guys can be traded.

If we add a star #4 or #5 and get a decent starting point guard, we'll be playoff contenders.

If we can do that without giving up our own draft pick or the unprotected Miami pick in 2021, I'm down.

Chriss, Miami 2018 pick, Bucks pick, all of our seconds, Monroe, Chandler, Dudley can all be bait to make that happen.

-No way Utah trades Gobert.
-Blake is interesting, but his injury history worries me.
-Boggie is a headcase.
-AG is probably now untouchable.

I don't think there's any way you can get a star 4 or 5 in this league without giving up a good pick. Talented big men are always in short supply

That woudl be my favourite choice. DJJ is not needed here with Warren and Jackson signed for a lot of years.
I don't want to make a big trade losing a decent player (Chandler, Monroe or Len) just to create a roster spot.

Yeah this makes sense as we need three centers in the event of an injury as Len, Chandler, and Monroe are all suspect and Williams will not be back until March. DJJ is the most likely suspect to be waived or traded. It leaves us thin a SF with only Warren and Jackson on the rolls. Dudley could probably handle bench SF duties because he is so good at taking away angles on the defensive end. He could dominate other teams bench players pretty easily. He just needs to get healthy.

Clippers wouldn't trade Blake for that anyway. He is their franchise.
