Watching Marcus Smart chuck 6+ threes per game in this offense would make my eyes bleed.

Not everyone has learned that. Just look what happened with Adams.

Anyone have any news on the Jrue extension? Likley? Unlikely? Wait and see?

I'd overpay the **** out of guys like Embiid, Jokic, KAT, prime Boogie, prime Marc Gasol, etc. and not think twice about it. More accurately, you shouldn't overpay mediocre bigs, but I'd argue that philosophy should be applied across all positions.

Yes, probably a better way to phrase it. But I'd say it's worse to overpay bigs than all positions because there is just fewer of them needed per team so fewer teams will have a need or space for them to play. Eliminate all your teams with legit elite bigs like you listed, no way they'd take on another big with legit salary. You're just going to have a much easier time moving your Tim Hardaway Jrs than bigs. Basically, teams need multiple wings/Gs, not so much for bigs. And it seems many teams are currently already sitting on an unused overpaid big. Plus, of course besides trades bigs are just the least needed spots and unless truly elite like you say you can grab basic competency for near league min to fill 15-20 mins

Man I really wanted Lowry on this team before trading the farm for Jrue. Dont get me wrong, Jrue is the better player IMO but damn did it take a lot of picks. I doubt Barney would have traded him to us though.

Zach Lowe has a nice blurb in his 10 things column about Thanasis and Marques. Marques getting the recognition he deserves.

How about something like this: https://tradenba.com/trades/nRNqPa2df

Bucks send the DJs and a future 2nd to Detroit
Pistons send Wright and Okafor to Milwaukee

Bucks get more size and defense in the backcourt, some big depth and save a little money this year, allowing them to get their 15th man quicker. Pistons tank this year, save some money next year and pick up some draft compensation.

Puts the Bucks over the hard cap.

March 2nd is the date to keep an eye on considering that's when Pat's trade restriction lifts. Is there any restrictions on the potential of re-acquiring George Hill? Would absolutely love the idea of something built around Pat/Wilson for Hill/Muscala.

Why Milwaukee is actually the best team in the East - despite the records:

Their point differential is far better than Philadelphia's.

Gotta laugh that there are only 3 teams with winning records.

Watching for this too.

Feel like it is likely if only considering how catastrophic it'd be if he'd walk. Bucks don't have much negotiating leverage.

Alternatively if for whatever reason either side doesn't think it's working out maybe we trade Holiday for Porzingis or something.

That could be catastrophic as well. However considering how asset-poor we are post-Holiday trade already we just can't afford to lose him for nothing.

If a Jrue extension isn't announced in the next couple days I will start to get very concerned...

They are sending out more money than they are taking back, I think they actually end up a little over $700,000 under the hard cap.

I openly hoped for a Hill/Muscala deal for a few months before someone finally told me they can't trade for Hill this year. The only way they can reacquire him is by claiming him off waivers.

If Jrue holds out until summer for a 5-year deal when nobody else can give him a 5-year deal anyway, I'm going to be so pissed.

I'd be more interested in Wilson + 2nd rd pick for Okafor + Ellington

Okafor just had knee surgery and is going to be out quite awhile, making him a bad fit to aquire this season.
