Paul George just got the max. I hate the deal for Indy.

They have George and Hibbert signed to max contracts (George actually signed to a bigger max deal), Hill signed for $8M a year, West signed for $12M a year. They might as well kiss Danny Granger and Lance Stephenson good-bye now, as their "big 4" will be soaking up $50M+.

Now where the hell are they going to get a scorer that can really handle the load of a championship-caliber team? It isn't George. For someone who's 6'10, by far the only scorer that would command a semi-regular double-team on his team, and crazy athletic, he's remarkably inefficient. Kemba Chucker shoots a better FG% than he does.

I don't think either George or Hibbert are worth max deals and it's going to come back to hurt Indiana once those guys are late in their contracts. They can pretty much kiss their flexibility goodbye for the next 3 years.

I don't mind it that much after we all just saw the step OKC took back. I rather see Indy over-pay for the nucleus they've gathered that realistically can win a championship than them low-balling one of their guys and losing him. If you have a chance for the title, you should go for it. Especially when you're a relatively small market team. I trust Larry Bird on this one.

indy didnt have much of a choice. they werent going to get him for less than that. if they played hard ball and lost it would have been a real kick in the balls for that team. they were one game away from the finals with that team and they look better this year on paper. that is the window that every team spends decades looking for. when you get there, you dont throw it away over a few mil for your best player.

i rarely agree on giving players who arent mega superstars a max deal, but in this situation i think it was the right move.

Cousins just got the max from the Kings.

Man I hope it works out for Kings fans, because if it doesn't...

I'm still holding out for Cousins. He's a world-class center if he pans out. Kings made a good decision, plus now Shaq's mentoring the dude.

I'm just glad to see talented players like George and Cousins stay with the teams that drafted them. Bodes well for small market teams like ourselves.

Yeah it's going to turn out we have all been misusing him. In reality, he's actually a gigantic shooting guard with tremendous range, we just never saw that because we parked his ass in the paint. Diop's three-point shooting will lead Miami to a three-peat.

We aren't even in October yet and the Timberwolves are starting to get injured. Budinger has suffered a cartilage injury to his left knee.
